  1. R.O.L.A.I.D.S spells Dustin Thomas.
  2. C'mon Delmon Young, suck, suck, suck, suck
  3. I repeat, Cabrera is Manny reincarnated... if Manny were dead. He's just unbelievable.
  4. Huge out right there. Nice job Melancon.
  5. Not sure in this situation why you switch pitchers. I don't care of Morales is fatigued, at least we know he's hitting his spots and throwing well.
  6. The Sox should have Beckett come out to close. Closing is much more valuable than starting.
  7. Yes, with your lack of ability to watch the game. Melancon is warming up. With Mike Boddicker.
  8. Melancon means "ohh man" in French.
  9. Bob Stanley and Calvin Scheraldi.
  10. Morales. Or Bob McClure.
  11. That devistating changeup from Benoit...
  12. There are college players who could make enough contact to hit the ball to the OF there. s***.
  13. Salty needs to hit a FB here.
  14. Nice job Aviles. Your mom must be proud. Oh, good timing with the pinch hitting.
  15. I'm not keeping Aceves there. I'm just not convinced that Bard is the only answer. Morales looks pretty good. Melancon closed for Houston last year. Padilla was nearly unhittable today. I don't think it is either A or B.
  16. Good job Morales.
  17. Youk would have fielded that ball cleanly behind the plate if he had pinch hit.
  18. If the reasoning is that the best move today would have been to keep PADILLA (of all people) in the game, that tells me that they probably don't need a closer, they just need to make smarter decisions. If they get away from the idea of a 'closer' perhaps they just keep the hot hand in there.
  19. I think the theory is that it is never worth it to overpay for a closer. At the same time, I imagine the sabermetric analysis assumes that there is SOMEONE in your pen who is better than an average schlub in high leverage situations. If the Sox had a Bard-esque reliever who was just pitching in the 7th instead of the 9th, perhaps a closer by committee would work. However, they don't have a good setup man or closer and they don't have anyone who is a beast in high leverege situations. I think Morales is the closest they have.
  20. Valentine caught yawning on the bench. Get the man some coffee.
  21. This may be true. Once Cook gets injured again will people be calling for Bard in the rotation again? Will Aceves getting clocked every 5th day in the rotation be acceptable?
  22. Who are you, Darth Vader?
