  1. Its so true, too. I mean, sure there was going to be a book, but "From the Sidelines: A Fenway Janitor's Stepsons Best Friends Third Cousins Car Mechanics' Great Uncles Journey Through the 2004 Boston Red Sox Season" is a little bit of overkill.
  2. September 27 -- Barry Bonds hits his 48th home run of the season, passing Hank Aaron on the all-time list and, in a scene reminiscent of Aaron's record-breaking blast, is joined by fans as he rounds second base. However, in a scene not reminiscent of Aaron's record-breaking blast, Bonds isn't congratulated by the fans, but punched over and over and over again. This one was written just for Moose.
  3. August 28 -- Kerry Wood is named Player of the Year by the National Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. September 18 -- White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski creates a MySpace page in hopes of getting some friends for the first time in his life.
  4. Eh, I guess thats a little stupid. This one is funny though: August 25 -- The 123,486th book on the Boston Red Sox' 2004 season hits store shelves, besting the JFK assassination for the all-time record for most books published on one topic.
  5. July 6 -- The Yankees end a five-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory over the Guardians, prompting George Steinbrenner to unlock Brian Cashman's office and allow his general manger out for the first time in nearly a week so he can eat something and use the bathroom. (KTF, which ones? I actually thought all the Manny ones were awesome)
  6. May 29 -- Curt Schilling logs onto a Boston Red Sox fan message board to ask users if anyone knows how to deep-fry a Twinkie.
  7. This one is on my birthday: May 9 -- Alex Rodriguez grants the wish of a dying child, who turns out to be from Boston, by striking out four times in a game against the Red Sox.
  8. August 20 -- Red Sox closer Keith Foulke blows his 28th save of the year, but Boston manager Terry Francona says he's going to stick with Foulke a little bit longer because he's "this close" to returning to his prior form. August 21 -- A strike by a local beer distributor leaves Wrigley Field without beer for one game, forcing 40,000 Cubs fans to watch a game sober and realize for the first time that they've been watching some pretty awful baseball over the past 100 years.
  9. August 13 -- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger throws out the first pitch before a Pirates home game against the Cardinals, giving the Pirates one of their few sellouts of the season.
  10. September 24 -- Manny Ramirez tells Coco Crisp that he thought he looked better last year when he wasn't so tan and had long hair and a beard. Crisp informs Ramirez that he is not Johnny Damon and that Damon hasn't been on the team all season, after which Ramirez just stares blankly for a few seconds and then walks away.
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=gallo/060403_april Hilarious 'predictions' for every day of the MLB season. My personal favorite is August 22nd.
  12. Whoa, I think a good chunk of RSN just got owned.
  13. You made the right move coming to this site and creating an account simply to voice your opinion. At the first available opportunity, I will go to the Cincinatti Reds and offer them Pena, Lenny DiNardo, and Ortiz for Arroyo, along with a box of "Nilla Wafers". (Do you think the Reds would call me an "Indian giver"?) I am deeply sorry for the anguish I have caused you, but rest assured this mistake will be corrected in time. After all, if the General Manager of the Boston Red Sox and his associates cant trust the opinion of a random fan from the other side of the country, where does that leave the team? Yours truly, Theo Epstein PS: Do you think the Nomar trade was a good idea?
  14. ...Im pretty sure thats what he just said.
  15. Awesome game (I was stuck at work, watching it on the lobby TV, so I couldnt post) Everyone who badmouthed Youk the first two games, report to me so I can laugh at you!
  16. Both off Rusch, too. He has to be pretty despondent by now.
  17. Probably not, but when he pitches a game like this, I think its worth taking note of.
  18. Psh, Im sure Denver's channel covers the Rockies better than YES covers the Yankees.
  19. Yeah, it was last year. Damon led off with a homerun, Ortiz followed with one of his own and it was feasttime from there.
  20. Amazing thing, Sheltons first two multihomer games ever, both this first week of the season.
  21. Hendricksons Line: 9IP, 3H, 0ER, 1BB, 5K. I just thought this was worthy of notice, I tend to follow every game of every day and Ill try to post if something interesting happens.
