Normally, I would bemoan the Rockies losing more prospects (especially after dealing Ryan Shealy), but with the hopeful emergence of Baker, Tulowitzski, Spilborghs, and Ianetta, they seem to have a good stock of rookie talent for 2007. They stayed in the race till the All Star Break last season, with the addition of Taveras, Hirsh, Bucholz, Javy Lopez and Rodrigo Lopez and continued solid performances by Cook, Francis, Fogg, Atkins, Holliday, and surprise standout Torrealba, they should really be in a good position in a bad division this season.
Of course, it helps if your franchise player gets people talking about a 'down season' when he -only- hits .302
