  6. Ted Williams hit about 70 homers against the Yankees...this month.
  7. That should stand as a single because of Timmons' f***up.
  8. McDonald, Bako, Hariston, Chavez...
  9. Whoo Connecticut Prrriiiiide! Johnny McD.
  10. A very good up and coming baseball player. John McDonald, on the other hand. Per Castiglione, McD is a Connecticut native.
  11. Oh no the world is ending. Shut up all of yous, we can win.
  12. My third gamethread of the season Boston (36-15) vs. Cleveland (31-19) BOS: RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka (7-2, 4.43 ERA) http://sports.bodogbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/daisuke-matsuzaka-red-sox.jpg Matsuzaka rode an offensive surge to his seventh win Friday, prevailing over the Rangers despite giving up five runs over five innings in his first career start in Arlington. Matsuzaka is 3-1 with a 5.00 ERA in his first five starts at Fenway Park, where he has allowed a .259 opponents' batting average and three home runs in 36 innings. He will be facing the Guardians for the first time in his career. CLE: RHP Paul Byrd (5-1, 3.81 ERA) http://graphics.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2006/07/23/1153680927_1281.jpg Byrd was aided by some stellar defensive work and some early offense in getting his fifth win of the season Friday against the Tigers. He gave up four runs on nine hits with no walks and a strikeout over 6 1/3 innings, and was elevating his pitches by the end of the outing. Byrd said he shouldn't have pounded the strike zone as much as he did, especially ahead in the count. But pounding the zone has helped Byrd go 37 1/3 innings without issuing a walk. Ill leave the mojo up to the experts. All I have to say is...Keep the quality coming, Dice-K
  13. Youk has an MLB.com blog now. I posted in his first entry where he asked for blog names. My suggestion? Youk of the Nation

  18. My second gamethread of the season Boston (34-15) vs. Cleveland (31-17), Monday, 7:05 p.m. ET BOS: RHP Josh Beckett (7-0, 2.66 ERA) http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2006/06/30/1151677957_3871.jpg The 27-year-old right-hander still is chasing Roger Clemens' 1986 club record of 14 consecutive wins starting the season, but has never beaten the Guardians. In two career starts against Cleveland, Beckett is 0-2 with a 13.97 ERA. CLE: LHP Jeremy Sowers (1-4, 6.29 ERA) http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2006/08/25/Ki8xOvvw.jpg After beginning the season 0-4 with a 7.13 ERA in his first eight starts, Sowers had his best start of the year on Thursday against the Royals. He went seven strong innings and allowed one run on six hits -- all of them singles -- while walking one and striking out one. It was his first victory in 10 starts, dating to Sept. 5. Ill leave the mojo up to the experts. All I have to say is...Welcome back, Beckett, and keep pitching like you were.
  19. Who is Nomar Garciaparra?
