  1. Who else is there so far?? Justin Verlander has done alright to this point. Our own Hanley Ramirez has done well thus far, Taylor Buccholz in Houston.... I can't find anyone in the month of April who is a rookie that has come close to the start Papelbon has had.
  2. Speak for yourself. I've been here a long time and most of what you say is crap. Not to mention the amount of room you take up on boards trying to pick a fight. You make too many attempts at defending your team and bringing down ours...one problem.... THIS IS A RED SOX FORUM Your current argument is rediculous. Saying our team is based around David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez. The numbers speak for themselves...just look them up....we have other players in the lineup doing quite well. Kevin Youkilis has as many RBI as Manny....Nixon has 13 and he doesn't play every day. Guy...just face it...you suck! They are a huge part of our team but I won't go as far as saying we don't have anything else.
  3. My understanding is they haven't let him go out and just pitch. He is being told to use his secondary pitches more...he is also on a strict pitch count. Same thing with Craig Hansen...usually that means the team has plans for them in the season. I don't think its that far fetched to see Lester and Hansen making there mark on the team. So here is a question: If both Lester and Hansen were ready to come to the bigs what would you do with them and Papelbon?? If Lester is effective I would consider allowing him to take the #5 rotation spot with Papelbon staying in as the closer and Hansen taking a setup spot.
  4. You could say the same thing about A-Rod....besides his personal awards he hasn't done much
  5. Well I guess I'll respond to the previous question: our #5 starter. Obviously I don't think DiNardo or Ginter would be the answer as our #5 starter but maybe someone else does. Its possible David Wells comes back and stops delaying his return acting like a baby. Roger Clemens is a possibility to take over a spot. The Red Sox could deal with the problem until Lester is ready later in the year (sounds like they are forcing him to work on secondary pitches and have a strict pitch count...usually means they have something planned for him). We could also wait until Craig Hansen is ready to come up then move Papelbon into the rotation. There are also still the rumors of Dontrelle Willis. So I guess it could be a number of things and I'll recap my thoughts: DiNardo, Ginter, Lester, Papelbon, Wells, Clemens, Willis
  6. Well said. All of the players in our lineup are professionals. Are they struggling with guys on base?? Absolutly and it drives me crazy but I also know things change in baseball. Sooner or later these guys will start getting the hits they need. I will guarantee Mark Loretta will hit better by the end of the season. Willy Mo has been making better contact, Youkilis continues to get on base, Lowell-Tek-Trot all come through with hits.... Its like me saying...Hideki Matsui and Alex Rodrigues are chumps becuase they are batting in the .240-.260 range. Catching my drift Rivernator?? Or are you going to continue to be ignorant.
  7. Well if you predicted a split then all is right with the world. Now I really hope Josh Beckett shuts you down tonight so we can really put you in your place. However, I'm sure you would come up with "Chacon didn't have his stuff and the managers blew it, or Sheffield wasn't in the lineup" Either way your team is full of chumps and your a bitch. Your captain Derek played like a rookie and A-Rod hit a whole lot of air last night. Just to put this out there....you suck
  8. Sounds like something you would do. I think most on this site will keep that in mind.
  9. Thats brilliant...and Seanez pitched well for San Diego. I really hope there is truth to this rumor.
  10. I say no. I won't judge Mark Loretta on one month performance. He did win us a game not long ago and I think when he starts to see these pitchers in the AL more he will come around. I think our real problem is hitting with guys on base. We hit a lot of solo HRs, and rarely make good contact with a 3-1 count. I don't think I have seen anyone come through with 2-outs either. We have been able to get on base but thats only the first step...once this team starts getting used to each other I would expect it to come around.
  11. Well guess what...I'm not lying and I wouldn't take the money and here are the reasons. First off, how much money is enough? Honestly how much money do you need? There are many people who feel money is not the most important thing in life. In my case..I would have stayed in Boston where the city loved to have me, they were always in my corner and I really made a place for myself. What more could you ask for when its all over?? I see players take less money from there home team because its where they want to be. I would do the same. If I decided to go New York then I would be fully aware of what comes with that. Say goodbye to the team I cherrished and goodbye to the fans who felt I was on there side. Boston will never forgive me for this one....I told them I would never leave and certainly not for the most hated rival. Johnny Damon was already a millionaire. When it comes to 40 million and 52 million is there really a difference? Would you throw away the city that truely made you the player you are for an extra 12 million when you already have more than enough? I choose loyalty over money. I need it just like everyone else....but I would never sacrafice whats truely great...and he did...the hell with him
  12. You would like to think they are stand up, good guys wouldn't you?? Either that or they are just money hungry. You realllly think we should cheer for him?? If he really cared about Boston then he would stick with the team. He left us and went to our biggest rival...why should we give him the satisfaction when he turned his back on us?? He spent several seasons fighting for us now he has decided to fight directly against us...and its not like he is at the end of his career. He will fight against the Red Sox for the next 4 years...might as well get a head start. The battle between the NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox is bigger than any one player.
  13. Speaking of bad posts you came back with nothing. Everything you say on this site should be removed considering you have been on here constantly writing ******** about your team. Everything you say is an attempt to bring down the Red Sox and state your claim as an evil empire bitch. I know your a Yankee fan, I know you hate the Red Sox, I know you will go against everything we say just to get a rise out of the members on this site. I also know this is what gets you excited and all you hope to accomplish is to get us pissed off. Personally I think you provide nothing to this site and you're annoying. Think it over and maybe you should consider moving on to a Yankee site where what you say can count for something. Or maybe you should consider writing meaningful posts and not attempt to pick fights with everyone like a select few of the Yankee members on here.
  14. Oh shut the f*** up douche bag. I was stating the Yankee fans would be happy with not playing a single game and just getting the World Series handed to them. You don't care what it takes just give me the damn thing. We are the NY Yankees...worship us and give us the rings. Well go to hell you bitch I'm sick of listening to you and your Yankee regime on this site telling us we should cheer a player when he switched from the Red Sox to the Yanks. I hate your team and I hate you. I will never cheer for any player that wears a Yankee jersey.
  15. Thats why you are a Yankee fan. Does not suprise me. Anything to win...spend the money, get the traitors, take the steroids. We should really just give the World Series to the Yanks because I'm sure they would accept it without playing a game.
  16. Not for the Red Sox though huh?? If Johnny Damon came back to Fenway in a Padre uniform we would cheer him...but he isn't. He's walking back into Fenway as a homo, part of a steroid infested team, nobody will cheer for him cause he's a bitch. He went from being loved by the greatest city in the US to a team where his face is one of the many. He means so little to the Yanks compared to what he was with the Red Sox and he did it for 12 million extra?? The hell with Johnny Damon, the hell with George Steinbrenner, and the hell with your team! Is this suprising to the Yankee fans making a claim we should cheer? I hate the Yankees..I hate everything you stand for and I hate the fans who think they know whats best. No I deffinitly "boo" Damon and I "boo" all the Yankee fans on this site telling us we should thank a traitor...I'll leave that to you guys.
  17. Screw this I'm watching the NFL Draft
  18. After the last several games I'm proud to say our pitching SUCKS... think maybe we can break out of this slump?? not looking so good
  19. over 30 players left on base today....thats the only comment i want to make
  20. Looking at this Guardians team though...they are clearly better than us
  21. As good as Beckett has been to this point he reminds me a little of Wade Miller last season.... Struggles in the beginning and throws a lot of pitches but then settles down and plays better. Obviously Beckett is much better with more talent but he needs to be more mentally ready to play...I don't understand that whole "take forever to pitch" routine
  22. wow something new...Willy Mo strikes out
  23. Mike Lowell always looks so close to hitting a home run.....but never does
  24. I really hate it when we make pitchers like Paul Byrd look incredible
  25. I am so sick of Josh Bard....every damn game he catches wake...there is a passed ball that they score on..... That run was completely his fault AGAIN. Because of Bard the runner moved over and then allowed him to score.....this is now a problem cause it happens every game....get a new catcher
