    Since it doenst look like Andruw Jones and Roger Clemens....maybe we could settle on Alfonso Soriano and Jon Lieber?? .....I think this is going to come down to the wire. The Red Sox probably have a bunch of deals and waiting last second to see who will bite at there price. Then again...its possible nobody will bite

    According to Gordon Edes...Andruw Jones will not be traded to the Red Sox. Pretty sad....it would have been nice if the front office could sell Atlanta on a Crisp, Hansen deal...way to get it done boys

    I'd love to see Jon Lester, Willy Mo Pena (another bat too), Craig Hansen for Roy Oswalt, Lance Berkman, Brad Lidge ....wishful thinking but if Houston wants to end there run...we have young guys they could consider

    Thats ludicrous. Andruw Jones is good and everything but please. Perhaps Coco Crisp and a couple mid-level prospects but certainly not Craig Hansen and Jon Lester. Get real Atlanta ....lets talk to Houston and get Roy Oswalt and Lance Berkman for those guys

    Strange....the Astros suddenly threw out Roy Oswalt's name (linked to Tejada), Roger Clemens name gets thrown out there, and also Brian Sabean said he would entertain offers now (with less than 24 hours left) for Jason Schmidt. .....very odd.....is Dontrelle Willis now available too??

    ooo thats a great point. That would allow the Red Sox to stick Dustin Pedroia, Chad Spann, and Jacoby Ellsbury(maybe?) for a callup later this season. That would be nice to see.

    Driving up the price on the Yankees?? Making them pay too much?? You don't think free agents would go to NY if they overpay for this kid?? Money means nothing to the Yankees....NOTHING.....they can pay and afford anyone they want. By jacking up the price he would still go to the Yankees, other players who come over would still go to the Yankees first, and free agents will continue to get more money from the Yankees than any other team can afford.

    This would be rediculous...according to the Baltimore Sun the Houston Astros are considering a Roy Oswalt, Morgan Ensberg, and Adam Everett deal for Miguel Tejada .....I wouldn't even trade Roy Oswalt alone for Miguel Tejada

    I agree....most large deals at the deadline fall apart because they are too complicated. Its better to just shove money at the teams who are in the toilet and take there best players. Don't have to give up decent prospects or MLB players.

    Great bidding war?? You can't be serious. Nobody can get into a bidding war with the Yankees. Might as well get his locker ready.

    Everyone can argue all they want about the stats and crap but the fact is....this Red Sox team is falling since the All Star break.....this team needs a shake up because right now it doesn't look like a team that has a chance to make the playoffs let alone a chance to win the World Series.
