  1. Well its no longer on hold. The paperwork was filed at 2 A.M. Tuesday morning. espn
  2. he meant that if Sosa leaves they'll try and get Beltran. Even if that happens I don't think the Cubs will outbid the Yanks unless the Cubbies give out a astronomical number like Texas did with A-Rod. But knowing the Cubs owners they won't.
  3. I was just wondering if the players were reversed. Would all the Sox fans say that Clement was better Pavano. Look who cares as long as they can pitch. There's only a handful of pitchers that can get into batters heads. Pavano and Clement are not one of them. Look (and not because I'm a Yankee fan) I would have to say the Yankees pitching including bullpen is better then last year and better then the Sox. You lost Lowe and you lost Pedro. You have Schilling and Wells who have health issues. Schilling will overcome. Clement who is aradict. arroyo who is inconsistent and Wakefeild who is not the pitcher he once was. I will admit they all stepped up in the playoffs, but another year is another year. Now the Yankees upgraded there bullpen. They have good pitching in Mussina. Who nows how Wright and Pavano will do. I think they will do fine. But we could have two Vazquez's. Kevin Brown when healthy can be a Ace. I think he will be good this year, because with the strong chance Of us getting Rj the pitchers will compliment each other. That's how the Sox did it in the ALCS. With our starters and our bullpen and if we add Beltran which we probably will, knowing George. Watch out. With all thease Stars its good we have the best Manager in Baseball in Joe Torre.
  4. good pick-up for the O's hopefully they can make the Al east the best division in baseball.
  5. First of all you can't sit there and tell me that not one Red Sox fan wants us to get RJ. Second of all who the hell are you telling me to Shut up. That was uncalled for. if you would pay attention to the trade, the Yankees have agreed to pay the Dodgers some of the salary for vazquez. Who knows why they agreed to this trade. As a Yankee fan I don't care. it doesn't make sense for the Dodgers as we look at it, but they must have a agenda.
  6. Well maybe not the Mets, but I think he goes to a team that will give him his no-trade clause.
  7. Yes, but this trade isn't going to be held up by the Union. Johnson didn't agree to a pay cut. It will happen, Dodgers just want to sign someone else at the same time.
  8. I think Varitek will go to the Mets. Anyone else?
  9. Just curious, what makes you think you guys will get Sheets?
  10. I don't think adding Clement to the Red Sox would push them above Atlanta. I'm sorry but the Sox rotation fell down a lot of points after Pedro left. You have health issues with Wells and Schilling. Arroyo is inconsistent, and Wake is not the pitcher he once was. I'm not being Biased just pointing out my opnion which I can argue.
  11. No Schilling is not a Hall of Famer. Its alreday been debated. He doesn't have Hall of Fame numbers. That could change of course, but as of right now he is not. You don't get nominated by your name, its what your history is. Remeber Schilling wasn't very good when he was younger. Not like Johnson or Clemens.
  12. They would say Pavano. I read hundreds of posts on here about hoping the Sox get Pavano. Clement only won like 9 games and Pavano won 15 or 16. Its pretty obvious who is better. When we RJ there gonna say he's washed up. In my humble NON-BIased opnion RJ can pitch circles around Schilling. RJ will be a hall of famer, not Schilling.
  13. Curious with the impending trade of RJ to the Yanks, I was wondering what you guys think the best starting rotation will be. I heard Gammons say his and I have to agree 1] Cubs 2] Yankees 3] Braves He didn't say what top 4 or 5 was, but this is who I think 4 and 5 is 5] Mets 6] Angels Boston I would say 9 or 10
  14. They've been reporting that since last night. You know how MLB teams like to not comment or make people thinks something else. I dunno why, maybe they don't want to get people's hopes up. It's on the Yankee website, so the deal excists. I think Green will agree, because is old agent is the Diamonbacks CEO. It just not gonna happen overnight, I think by this time next week, it will be official, then they can go after Beltran. Yankees in '05
  15. It looks like RJ more then likely will be a Yankee.
  16. It looks like RJ will be a Yankee. With Javy going to LA, for Shawn Green and Green going to Arizona.
  17. I wouldn't be so confident on getting Ben Sheets in 06'. The Brewers are gonna throw everything they have at him and if he likes it there he will stay. Plus I know you've probably been sick of hearing this but, the Yanks were interested last year and would probably get him (if they need him) just so Boston could not.
  18. it may not be until after the season starts, but I think it will happen. Steinbrenner wants it so does RJ. Arizona screwed themselves when they signed those two players with money that they said they didn't have. I think they thought RJ would stay if they got those two. But, unfortunantly for them he was like whoa you got money so you don't need all that money from the Yanks, so make a deal.
  19. Well schiilingouteks its already been reported that the D-Backs called the Yanks today and asked if they had any more options available. If RJ told his agents he wants out he's gonna get out of Arizona. He has a no-trade clause and the only team he would waive it for would be New York. I guess he wants to pitch for Torre. He wants a chance to win one more time.
  20. touche rooter, but here's the thing this year stung, but its nothing compared to what the Red Sox had to go through. Just remember one thing the curse is over so now they are just a regular baseball team. I was wondering if all the Sox fans will become closet Cubs fans because I just can't see Red Sox fans bitching about not winning the big game, lol
  21. The Yanks will get him for a three-wat trade with Cardinals for RJ
  22. I think Renteria stays in St. Louie, Pedro to Mets, Manny to Mets probably, Pavano to Yanks, and Randy Johnson said to the Diamondbacks I don't care what ya do get me to New York, Hudson to Dodgers more probably, and A.J. Burnett will be a Brave, or a barganing chip for the Yanks. It makes the ALCS dibacle forgetable. Man, its great to be a Yankee fan again. Oh yea... Wright to the Yanks. What are the BoSox's doing there letting everyone slip through their fingers.
