  1. True, but the Red Sox do not even make it to game seven if not for Wakefield. They won three games during that series, two of which were due directly to brilliant performances by Wakefield.
  2. I think he was fired because he left Pedro in. It had nothing to do with Wakefield.
  3. Fair enough, I think we've probably exhausted this part of the argument. My only point was that I believe that the Yankees offer was better than the one in which he was obtained. As for all the trades made since 2005, it's just tough to continue to debate it considering it's pure speculation on the part of both sides. I must say though, I do see your point and I respect it, I just happen to disagree (like I said though, that may be the biased part of me).
  4. lol at being upset at Tim Wakefield's performance in the 2003 postseason (I assume that's what you're talking about).
  5. Eh, can't win them all. Nice win guys.
  6. Giese needs to keep it at 7-2. Looks like I'm the only Yankee fan still posting here. EDIT: Nice job...need some offense before Papelbon.
  7. To state the obvious, that could have been so much more. A-Rod got unlucky, but the ABs by Nady and Cano were very poor, especially considering they both got ahead 2-0 in the count. That might have been their chance, but anything can happen I guess.
  8. I regret not expanding on my previous post. I honestly did not mean to mislead people by making it look it was just for Schilling, although I know it looked like that. Even though Spivey had a good 2002 he was coming off a subpar 2003 so I'm not sure how highly regarded he was at the time. Also, it only said the Diamondbacks were only considering adding those "lesser players", not that they were definitely on the table. It doesn't mention names in the article, but I'm assuming you have your own sources. Lastly, I'm only pointing out that Cashman wasn't always getting the best of others GM's.
  9. Another chance for Jeter, although they'll need lots more.
  10. This should be a decent amount more of Sidney and then some of Dan Giese unless the Yankees start hitting.
  11. According to this article... http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C0DEFDF1438F930A25752C1A9659C8B63 ...Arizona asked for Nick Johnson and Alfonso Soriano. Seems like a lot to me. Obviously this could be overblown considering it's just a rumor, but if true this is certainly an example of the Yankees really getting the raw end of a deal (one that involves players more valuable than any of those discussed in the other trades you mentioned).
  12. I live in New York and I never heard anything about Joe Girardi telling Moose that if he doesn't pitch inside he wouldn't be starting games. Has anyone else heard about that prior to today?
  13. Haha, well, I was really just referring to what he's done recently. Nice turn there...Jeter had pitches to hit...
  14. It's definitely a fluke, but if Molina gets on half as much as he has been it's going to be more than enough. And two very lucky hits for the Yankees need to lead to something this inning if the Yankees have any kind of a chance.
  15. My fault about the word "conspiracy". That was my only my word because that's just what I felt you were kind of implying. All of those are interesting possibilities, and unfortunate ones no matter who you are a fan of to say the least. I know it's only one example, but didn't the Diamondbacks take considerably less from the Red Sox for Schilling than what the Yankees were offering...or am I misremembering?
  16. Can't win them all. No need to exhaust the bullpen without an off day coming up.
