  1. Romero looks pretty good so far.
  2. I won't go back and quote all the posts, but I do agree with what Dipre has been saying. I don't think you can really blame Youkilis for what he did. His emotions got the best of him. It happens to everyone. However, I still don't think it's a good thing for the Red Sox. Losing Youkilis, your best offensive and defensive player, will hurt. This, in my opinion, cannot be argued.
  3. They probably should just throw Ruiz all off speed pitches. He's shown, pretty clearly, in the last game (plus today) that he can kill the fastball but swings and misses at almost every breaking pitch.
  4. Look, most of you guys clearly believe that what he did was one of the reasons they won tonight, and will help them down the road. I disagree, because I don't think any of that outweighs the potential loss of Youkilis. This is clearly an argument that is going to go nowhere, mainly because a lot of it is conjecture. However, there is one thing that isn't conjecture. The Red Sox are a better team with Kevin Youkilis in the lineup then they are without Kevin Youkilis in the lineup. EDIT: And lets not kid ourselves. Porcello being tossed and Tazawa settling down are really the reasons why the Red Sox won tonight. I don't see how Youkilis' actions effected any of that. For the record, I see that you guys are also talking about this having an impact down the road. I'm just simply commenting on tonight's events.
  5. I guess what it comes down to is what you value more? -The hypothetical scenario that Youkilis charging the mound has, in some way, inspired the Red Sox to play better baseball. If that's the case, then they need to question why they're not motivated enough just to make the playoffs. -Not having one of your best offensive producers for, possibly, up to a week, in the heat of a pennant race.
  6. I would be very upset if a Yankee did something similar.
  7. Wow, the Yankees missed Halladay in this series, and they're going to miss Felix Hernandez this weekend. Very, very lucky.
  8. Hit another one.
  9. Ugh, such a terrible loss. Whatever. Can't really complain seeing as they won the previous three years.
  10. Alright, I didn't realize that someone was contending he had been perfect in the postseason. I'll admit, however, that it was more that I jumped at the opportunity to defend Rivera for that game lol.
  11. Two run HR by Morales puts the Angels up 5-3.
  12. Someone used 2001 Game 7 as a point when they were discussing how good Rivera is.
  13. That's fair. My only point was about how relevant 2001 Game 7 is to the argument.
  14. One game and one hard hit ball. Not to mention Brosuis' mental error.
  15. Bad loss. Mitre never should have been in for the fifth inning. Molina never should have hit in the sixth inning. Swisher never should bat second.
  16. How do you not pinch hit for Everett there?
  17. Molina never should have been allowed to hit in that situation.
  18. The difference between Mitre and Gaudin is negligible. On top of that, we have no idea what Joba Chamberlain's status for the postseason is. They needed to get a starter in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I think the 2009 Yankees are a very good baseball team, but when they're playing well, the fans ignore the problems. And the number one problem, for a variety of different reasons, is the rotation.
  19. When is enough going to be enough with Mitre? Unfortunately, Girardi thinks he's done a good job. Why am I not surprised.
  20. Gom, I'm still waiting, how in the world is the fact that the Yankees have never blown a lead of this size at this point in the season relevant to this year?
  21. Please explain to me how that statistic has any relevance?
  22. And this is why they might pay for standing pat at the trade deadline. I said it then, and I'll say it now, I'm very disappointed that they didn't acquire a SP.
