    Shaky series there from Rolando McClain. He wasn't aggressive enough on the first play of the drive, an eight yard run by Demps. There was no cut back lane, so there was no reason to protect against it. He should have been quicker to the edge. Then, on Tebow's counter run, he occupied the wrong gap, opening a huge hole for Tebow. I like him a lot, but two poor plays. EDIT: Well, I guess Ingram got his bad game out of the way last week. It was an awful play call, but it's more unlucky than anything else. McElroy didn't recognize the corner blitz and adjust, Alabama just simply had the perfect play call (as the announcers alluded to) against Florida's defense.

    Awful decision there by Tebow against the blitz. If Justin Woodall had been a bit more patient, it would have been a pick. EDIT: If they're going to run out of the wildcat with Ingram, like I suggested they should last night, it should be with Richardson next to him. Take advantage of the fact that Richardson is coming into his own as of late.

    So pumped for Bama tomorrow (technically today), as they get their second crack at Florida in as many years. Ingram has practice all week, which is good. I can only hope that last week was a hiccup, and he'll be back to his usual self. I wouldn't mind seeing the dual threat of Ingram and Richardson in the back field tomorrow, even if it's out of the wild cat formation. It's also nice that McElroy, all things considered, is probably coming off his best game of the year. Also, run the ball right at Dunlap's vacated side.

    I just do not see the Yankees giving up their best prospects. I don't think that's the route they're going to go down anymore, but we'll see.

    I don't get why everybody is so upset that the World Series ran into November. What is the big difference between it ending on one of the last days of October, as opposed to sometime during the first week of November? It's really not that big of a deal, just because the month changes. The only changes I would like to see are a hard slotting system for the draft, expansion of instant replay, and the elimination of the neighborhood call. Whatever else happens in regards to the financial state of the game (salary cap, salary floor, increased luxury tax, etc.), it's fine by me. There seems to be no perfect solution, and there are legitimate arguments for all sides.

    I didn't think Damon was a lock, but I agree with the sentiment of your post. If you offer Damon arbitration, lets look at the possible outcomes. 1. He accepts arbitration. You'll end up paying more money per year for his services than you would otherwise (probably anywhere up to five million more), but you only get him for one year, which would be an ideal scenario for the Yankees. 2. He declines arbitration, and signs with another team. The Yankees are compensated in terms of draft picks. 3. He declines arbitration, and re-signs with the Yankees. If I were the Yankees, I offer him arbitration, because I would be OK with all three outcomes. I think it speaks to the fact that the Yankees are going to more money conscious this year. Unless I'm missing something, the only reason they're not offering him arbitration is over the fear that he receives up to a five million dollar raise. Seems very un-Yankee like...

    Well, I probably would not pull the trigger on that deal, but you're really outlining the negatives of Halladay. The question is this: While Halladay might be a burden down the road, and the prospects you trade him might wind up being successful, is that worth it for the security of guaranteeing yourself as a World Series favorite for the next few years (which Halladay would do for the Yankees and the Red Sox)? I find either way of thinking to be reasonable.

    I don't understand why that makes him a closet Yankee fan. I don't think the Yankees will end up with Halladay, but it's very possible, if no one pulls the trigger, that the Yankees take the opportunity. If they do that, they're going to be tough to beat. Nothing about what he said is inaccurate, nor is it even pessimistic.

    When you claim that he hot dogged a few plays during the NLDS, and that is proven incorrect, do you think that your argument loses some of it's validity? Do you think, maybe, your memory of him hot dogging these plays is inaccurate? How many other games of his did you watch? Can you find any examples of him hot dogging plays?
