  1. Many things have been "close" today, only to fall through shortly thereafter. Considering what Detroit has been asking for, I expect this to be no different, and I really hope I'm right.
  2. Happy to see Bruney finally out of here. After his DL stint he was either ineffective or lucky (falling behind and hard hit balls), yet Girardi continued to go to him. Fortunately he won't have that option this year.
  3. The Yankees received the Nationals Rule V draft pick.
  4. When it comes to David Ortiz, whether it's in this discussion, or any other discussion, the fact that he did steroids is irrelevant to me. For the sake of staying on topic, the Red Sox acquired David Ortiz at a low cost, and he wound up being a great hitter. Personally, I don't care why. It's a low risk move, with a high reward potential.
  5. Right, and not only was it rampant, but, personally, I just don't care. If these guys wanted to take a drug to give themselves a muscular advantage (or an advantage when it comes to injury recovery), so be it. It doesn't bother me in the least. EDIT: at ORS
  6. I'm curious as to whether he actually believes that. It's a fair question. The discussion, for some, had moved away from risk, and gone to steroids in general.
  7. Do you really think it's tainted, or is that just an attempt to rile the Red Sox fans? I guess I'm in the minority when I say I couldn't care less about steroids.
  8. Great day for college football.
  9. What a finish. I'm so glad most sports have instant replay.
  10. Apparently Rafael Soriano might accept arbitration. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4717127
  11. Excuse my ignorance, but what are the criticisms of RF/G and OBP?
  12. I only have a real issue with Teixeira and Cano. EDIT: at Gom
  13. I completely agree with this. The guy cried. Big deal. It's far from a knock on him, and, in my opinion, it's just an example of people grasping at straws for reasons to hate the best athletes (that are on teams that they're not a fan of).
  14. That might do it!
  15. I understand that Saban does not have complete trust in McElroy (which really showed at the end of the first half) but considering how well he has played, I wouldn't have minded some type of play action, run pass option on third and four. So be it.
  16. YES! Awful, awful decision.
  17. Hopefully it doesn't matter, but I disagree with Saban's decision to go for two. If you miss it, like they did, Florida can tie the game with two TDs (both with two point conversions) and a FG. On the other hand, if they just kick the XP, Florida needs three TDs. I see what they're trying to gain, but I don't think it was worth the risk.
  18. Step on their throat. EDIT: Here is their chance to, for the most part, put Florida away. A field goal, thanks to the missed XP earlier, would still leave it at a two possession game. A TD might do it.
