  1. Soriano looks awful, but the Yankees can't get to him.
  2. OK, nicely done by CC. If they take the lead, obviously it's Mo. If they don't, let CC face Crawford, and then go to Wood.
  3. It's not just his playing time, it's also the other things. Fact is, the stats side with Jacko, and while your opinion is reasonable, his is hardly one to laugh at.
  4. Kearns got off to a hot start with the Yankees, but he has been absolutely dreadful overall.
  5. Between his offense, defense, and the amount of time he has spent on the field, I think you could make the case that he has been one of the top five most valuable Yankees this year.
  6. Finish with the slider.
  7. Ugh, that was right there.
  8. Completely disagree with this. He has looked bad tonight, but he has swung the bat very well since his return. One bad night, against one of the best pitchers in baseball, doesn't change that.
  9. He's not the second best player on the Yankees, but he has certainly been one of their best this year, taking into account all aspects of the game.
  10. Not sure why you're mocking Jacko's comment about Gardner. He has the second high WAR on the entire team. It's a very reasonable assertion.
  11. He didn't throw many pitches on Friday, so I really don't have an issue with sending him back out there tonight. Unfortunately it didn't work out. These last two games have been rough.
  12. Very excited about tonight. Nice little test for Bama.
  13. When asked about Manny Banuelos, Keith Law responded (on twitter) by saying he spoke to a long time scout who said Banuelos is the best minor league pitcher he's seen all year. Quite a ringing endorsement from Law.
  14. Yup, that's a fair and reasonable take on things.
  15. No questions for Joe on the post-game about Jeter. How long can they allow him to hit at the top of the order, when he's been horrendous, and they have much better options? If he slumps for the next two weeks, would they consider it? How about for the rest of the regular season?
  16. Right now I'd have to say the Rangers, but only because of the uncertainty surrounding Lee and Hamilton. If both of them are healthy, it's a toss up, and I'd probably even lean towards the Twins.
  17. Right, and the division isn't all that important, so losing this game is hardly the end of the world. I would like to see them play better though. But they hit a rough patch last September, so this could very well be meaningless. I just really wish Girardi put on a squeeze play with Jeter up in the 12th inning. It would have worked perfectly.
  18. Expected. These games don't mean a ton, but the Yankees are struggling.
  19. Posada gets ahead 2-0 in the count, needing only a fly ball, and all he can manage is a weak looper to the second basemen, on the pitch middle up (basically the perfect pitch for a fly ball).
  20. They've been ahead in the count so often tonight, and just have failed to take advantage time and time again.
