  1. how does everyone feel about this crucial signing.....do we still have a shot at A.J Burnett? i believe we still gotta get another #2 pitcher! its a start...go sox!
  2. does anyone actually want him?
  3. and official STEINBRENNER IS A FAG! "It finally took a three-way for us to grasp the Big Unit, but now that we have Johnson, our holes are filled."-georgie porgie
  4. Much to consider, re the POSSIBLE RJ trade... a) The trade still needs to be completed--the Dodgers will hold up the NYY for a large part of Vazquez' salary...Green appears to want to stay in LA and has a No Trade clause (is his agent still Jeff Moorad, the individual currently running the DBacks? Is this a conflict?)...everyone has to pass physicals...this will take a bit of doing. NYY WON the AL East last season--the ONLY 2004 Pennant that will be flown in the Bronx. If RJ is a Yankee and STILL pitching complete games in the 2005 ALCS, God Bless him and shame on Joe Torre...a relief apperance notwithstanding, but would they push Rivera to the side? c) Theo and trio aren't done yet--and I'd rather be future-proofed than completely empty out the farm system. The Yankees have opted to sell out their future. If RJ, 41 or 42 yr old, gets injured during the season, the NYY will have nothing in the cupboard. The Hot Stove season is FAR more interesting as defending World Champs, no?
  5. Someone should get a thought into the head of Theo that Ted Lilly could be a solution to the lefthand pitching problem for many years. Young, hard throwing with Toronto, a team which has many problems, including financial, therefore flexible to a deal. He has already proved to Theo and the team his abilities in games against the Sox during this past season.
  6. How can you not like the Renteria signing? He only 29, it seems like he has been kicking around the league forever but apparently he was originally called up at 19. .300 seems reasonable and perhaps even higher if he can adapt to hitting with the Wall. He has driven in 100 runs on one or maybe even two occasions before so depending upon where he hits in the line-up that could be attainable again. Defensively, he's probably a miniscule step up from Cabrera and a monumental step up from old friend Lassie. Who are the top 3 SS in the AL EAST? 1.)Tejada 2.)Renteria 3.)Jeter 2 and 3 could be reversed!? im not quite sure
  7. I am excited about the Renteria deal!!! It's a confidence builder right now in the midst of Pedro leaving. I have faith in Theo to keep things going and get us what we need. Hanley might be a good prospect for the future but Renteria is proven and doing great right now. Good job Theo- and welcome Renteria!!! Once again Theo and his staff have worked a sweet deal. There is not a doubt, not a doubt that Theo and his staff are not done yet. They will sign TEK and get one more front line pitcher. Finnally it is fun being a RED SOX fan, more importantly a defending WORLD CHAMPION RED SOX fan. Thank you Mr. Henry!

  13. are you for real? if you chose polanco over renteria you must be high beyond belief!
  14. :wtf: How do they figure?
  15. Edes/Hohler: Mets Suggest Manny/Piazza Blockbuster
  16. thats stupid, I highly doubt it
  17. discuss
  18. so, who here thinks they will sign renteria? i agree with sarasox he is a great SS, won 2 gold gloves and I'd love to see him go head-to-head with Derek Jizzeter.
