  12. ha that friend i was tellin you about a couple posts ago, loves golf. tennis and golf are his whole life. he tried out for the team at our high school, he went to the first day of tryouts but i guess he did so bad he didnt even show up for the 2nd and 3rd days. He's a quitter- quit football, wrestling...and golf. me and my girlfriend go bowling sometimes on fridays jsut to goof around with each other and hang out with friends.
  13. i just like how the crowd gets into it at a baseball game and how loud they can become as the game gets going. golf is pretty boring too.
  14. maybe some lingering effects of that injury eralier in the season
  15. hmmm...you're one of those guys who are soooo obsessed with tennis, I have a friend like that, annoying as f***...everyday- "you wanna play tennis?", "you ready for tennis?".......ahhhh s*** I like my baseball buddies more
  16. I think we can all agree that when it comes to pitching its a game to game thing. Wakes knuckleball will be flat one game and like saturday night unhittable, Schilling can be sharp then gives up meatball, today I watched Pedro against the Dodgers and he was unbelievable with a no hitter into the eigth and last start he got rocked. When you see a pitcher who is under 2.5 era you are talking HOF. I believe Matt Clement is a good journeymen pitcher who will get better over the next several years as he perfects his command. A perfect example of pitching mysteries is Chacon who the Yankees took off the junk pile because they recognized he was curveball pitcher who curve would never work in the the rarified air of Colorado.
  17. ill never get kenny
  18. yeah his play in the first inning was the #2 web gem on BBTN.....someone on this board said that we should send him down, he is a rookie, and I'm expecting good things from him in the future....he has an above average arm and defense, and with experience his baserunning will improve, and his hitting will come around as soon as he sees some more pitches.
  19. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/news/top50/index.jsp?content=1 only one red sox...hanley @ #13 big ******** that duke isnt even in the top 10, and ryan howard is in the 30's. and papelbon, sanchez, or lester arent anywhere to be found.
  20. Hey, we could look back on this, at the end of the season and the Sox up by 1 game (or even tied) with the Yankees, and that rain could have been a gift from the heavens.
  21. Mutual off days for the Sox Rojo and Sox Blanco for the rest of the year: August 22 and September 5. August 22 Red are in Anaheim on the 21st and in KC on the 23rd. White are home on the 21st and in Minnesota on the 23rd. September 5 Both teams in the midst of homestands. Because there are no mutual off days anywhere near the end of the year, this game probably won't be made up . The only way I could see a makeup is on October 3 if the Yankees are within a half-game of the division title. I'd say that's pretty unlikely, and isn't the ALDS slated to begin October 4?
  22. Clement, Red Sox rescued by raindrops Boston starter's five earned runs dissipate in the deluge BOSTON -- Mother Nature provided the best relief Sunday for Matt Clement and the Red Sox. The second rain delay of the game was brought on by a series of heavy rains, lightning and thunderstorms that inundated Fenway Park and eventually forced umpires to call the game following a wait of nearly four hours. The White Sox were batting in the top of the fourth and had scored twice to extend their lead to 5-2 with runners on first and second with one out when the deluge began anew. Statistics from the game will be wiped out, and the contest will be replayed in its entirety. The game was stopped the first time for 48 minutes after the top of the first. Rainwater flooded the first two rows of infield box seats and both dugouts. Before the second stoppage, the White Sox had rapped out eight hits against Clement, who surrendered three runs in the third before his teammates rallied in the bottom half of the inning for two. But Clement gave the runs right back on a long homer to the first row of the Monster seats in left-center by Jermaine Dye leading off the fourth, followed by an RBI double to Chris Widger, making it 5-2. The washout also preserved Boston's 13-game home winning streak and its six-game overall streak. The Red Sox did lose a half-game on their first-place cushion in the AL East and now lead the Yankees by 4 1/2 games.
