Timlin is 7-2 with a 1.91 ERA in 75 games, one appearance shy of his career best set last season. Quotable "It's our team's responsibility to try and win. However we're going to do it, I think we do a really good job of that. 10. look at his career #'s his past 3 years before this 1 as he came into his own. 19 errors in 2002, 16 in 2003 and 11 last season. he was becoming a great fielding SS. I for 1 feel its just a bad year. and i am positive he will not commit more than 20 next season. his confidence is low because he feels bad when he makes mistakes. i'd rather him feel bad then laugh about it. he's not the only one who has those probs. foulke has confidence probs, schilling did, bellhorn did, millar did, etc. booing doesn't help, it only makes it worse. that is coming from the players mouth. what happened to everyone loving him last month?? Hes not a bad SS he makes plays most SS wont even bother to try to make and he shows he tries also A-rod did horrible last season for the Yanks what makes you think next year all of you wont be making post like I love Edgah??
  11. We're within 2.5 of the best record in the league and 2.5 away from being totally out of the playoffs. It's a crazy game...
  12. Does any Red Sox fan on this board really believe that Alex Rodriguez should win the MVP? Please stand up and present your argument. Otherwise - this thread should have no more post Remmy said this right. If the DH can't win the MVP than their shouldn't be a DH. Why not just tell every DH at the beggining of the season that they can't win a MVP award?

  14. I remember a month or so ago the talking heads in the media said that if the Sox and/or Yanks made the postseason, they would lose in the first round because of no pitching. And now I don't think many pitching staffs are better than ours right now. Wake is the man, Schill has shown flashes, Boomer is Boomer, and Clement has gotten over a rough stretch quite well recently. Add to that the fact we can move tonights ace (Bronson) into the pen to compliment Papelbon and Timlin, and our pitching staff should be able to support our offense (once it comes back) He struggled in the 5th and 6th, but that could be attributed to a wet ball. He looked GREAT. If this is the team we go to war with in October, I will like my chances vs any opposing team. Especially with the Fenway magic backing them up. Honorable Mentions: Manny Ramirez, (rbi single, GW homer) Mike Timlin (perfect 9th, 2 K's)
  15. hmmm 2005 ortiz or 2005 giambi ill pick ortiz 10 times outof 10
  16. I'm also sure it's every "little" yankee fans wet dream to have Papi in pinstripes and I'm sure that every team in MLB would take that half a player. Will Ortiz get the shaft as all the sports writers that vote are "old school"? But as it is said IGNORANCE IS BLISS.
