    well we really gave in to them tonight. what a pathetic offensive effort. you allow mussina to throw a perfect game for 6.2 innings and then lieber a 3 hitter through 7....seriously...pathetic. its like buckling up under pressure every time we play this team in their place. its a joke, the entire thing is a joke. and you know very well if some miracle happens and we get back in this series, you know very well who is going to beat us. not A-rod, not Jeter, not Sheffield, BUT CAIRO, OLERUD, KENNY LOFTON, OR NELSON DE LA ROSA...BECAUSE ANYTHING THEY WANT TO DO IN A BIG GAME THEY DO IT--just like aaron boone and bucky dent. this is so painful and hurtful and am extremely let down. i would have taken a split in NY. but when you dont win with either Ace, or beat jon leiber its time to pack them up.

    thats not thing you should be pissed about with francona....TIMLIN SHOULD HAVE NEVER GIVEN UP THE DOUBLE!! thats why you sign foulke!!! Granted Mueller doesnt hit into that double play, atleast we would have had more of a realistic shot!!!

    i know we have a playoff spot locked up and stuff, but this is scary...our 1A ace is 0-4 in his last 4 starts with 2 of those to the Yankees the team to beat, and the devil rays the worst organization in baseball. Our pitching is suspect. not a great way to end the season adn begin 'limpin' into the post season.

    this is just flat out sad. the blueprint is out for beating this guy. Attack his FB early in the game (88 mph), run on him all day, keep pressure on him. if this guy doesn't pull it together Schilling by himself cannot win us the world series.

    pedro is getting his ass handed by the devil rays and very well could be 0-4 in his last 4 starts heading into the post season. Teams are figuring out to swing at him early with his 89 mph fb and attack him. this sucks.

    IMO, i think it is going to go: 1. Pedro 2. Schilling 3. Wakefield 4. Lowe 5. Pedro Bullpen: Arroyo They kiss Lowe's ass so badly I cant see him not making the starting rotation. Arroyo is more deserving than Wake and Lowe but knowing how s***** francona is, i can definately see them giving it to the two longer tenured sox players, including Pedro over Schilling out of respect for Pedro. Personally, I see that as stupid. The Game 4 starter is critical because Lowe cannot pitch against contact (angels and twins) and flat out would get ripped by oakland (patience). If the twins host us, could wakefield possibly start game 2 because of his record in the dome? If Lowe is pitching game 4, him vs Santana isnt a favorable matchup. It should be Arroyo, no doubt.

    yeah but we won a bunch of wild games down the stretch..we were very hot going into the post season...and eventho the firs ttwo games were lost vs oakland...we played on unbelievable adrenaline...momentum does carry over.

    I know we are going to the playoffs...but we have about 0 momentum going in. Last year, we had all the momentum in the world going into the playoffs....im very nervous and not confident if we had to face the yankees in the playoffs...and the twins are no pushover.

    bottom line is you try and line up ur pitchjer for a win...after 7 solid innings and you are winning I do not take him out and give him the chance for a ND or loss. Notable f***ups by francona with not knowing how to use the pitchers 1. tonight 2. last night 3. derek lowe blister problems 4. derek lowe head problems 5. derek lowe pussy problems 6. schilling vs. toronto, losing on a Grand Slam 7. Not having a short leash with Arroyo in the beginning of the season, and let him get beat up 8. Wakefield stinking up the joint almost the entire season 9. mike meyers vs any RH hitter. 10. im sure there iis more

    Im so sick of him. he doesnt know how to utilize pitchers...i can name enough instinces this year..and tonight and last nite are no exception. Pedro was done after 103 pitches, take him out and reward him. he has a 4-3 lead and gave u 7 solid innings, why go out for #8? it makes no sense when he has a lefty in the bullpen to face matsui and then timlin. and i dont care how shaky foulke has been dont try that argument, you pay him to close big games and this is a big game. f*** this guy and tell him to take his previous winning percentage with philly back home with him.

    its such an embarassment for him to be in todays game. its a sign of giving up and not gaining any momentum going into the yankee series..not that he coudl tell, but we easily could have won this game tonight...putting in kim is like giving up at this point.

    i think trot should talk to eric chavez this offseason about hitting lefties. Chavez used to have the worst #s vs lefties possible...he was like hitting just over .100...hes turned it around and they have him hitting over .300 vs lefties. trot is so dangerous vs righties...if he could bat a very respectable .260 vs lefties he will be a .320 hitter...and hes already a .290-.300 hitter to begin with.

    i think roberts is going to be so valuable in the postseason...u can play nixon for 7 innings and take him out for a pinch runner and have him steal a base and have the ability to score on a single or be on first and score on a double...adds such another dimension. he should steal every time hes on basically.

    i dont know but if we were losing with just our offense slumping i'd say wed wake up in time for october. But Lowe and Wake have sucked just about the entire year, and Arroyo has been hit or miss and he is hot lately. So are we really built for the postseason...

    this is a disgrace. how can you be so bad on a rundown...all you have to do is close in as the runner runs away from the man with the ball and it should be an easy out all the time. i dont know who is worse right now lowe or wake

    I turned the game off to watch the Giants instead, but I read an article in the local paper (very pro yankee paper) talk about Jeter BUNTING in a 6 run game. Timlin started to talk trash to him and Jeter's face said what are you going to do about it. Timlin hit Arod and then followed up wiht an up and in pitch to Sheffield. Thank god, they pitches us inside all weekend its too bad we waited until Timlin came in to take control of the Inner half. For once, its the Yankees and their fans acting like the World Series has been won...and its the Red Sox saying, wait til October...
