  1. Source: Cody Ross to #RedSox. #MLB - Ken Rosenthal
  2. Now is the perfect time to bring in Prado and Jair.
  3. Getting the Braves to deal Jair and Bourn in a deal would be amazing, and would definitely blow away NYY's deal with Seattle.
  4. How about Cody Ross? Carlos Quentin would have been a nice and reasonably priced snag a while ago.
  5. Bethel is a tiny town in Connecticut. My ex-roommate actually went to Bethel High with Barnes. Says he's a really nice guy.
  6. 1 year, 8.5 m. No way Oakland or Boston gets f***ed over by the Bailey trade more than Madson.
  7. Could anyone else see this offseason going very bad for him? Every suitor seems to be dropping and the image Boras has painted of him seems more and more of a facade every day.
  8. I'd give him the nod.
  9. Cook>Silva?
  10. The deal is worth $1.5MM if Cook is called up to the Major Leagues
  11. I'm going to make a bold guess and say Matt Garza gets traded to NYY during the season, around the trade deadline.
  12. He's a free agent man.
  13. Starting to remind me a little bit too much of the Gagne trade though. An injured, but previously proven effective closer for a young outfielder and some prospects.
  14. Awesome!!
  15. If Xander Bogaerts is so up and coming, doesn't that make Middlebrooks (or Iglesias) a lot more expendable than people make him out to be? After all, it wasn't long ago Lars Anderson was "certainly" our future first basemen.
  16. Joe Saunders Andy Sonnanstine on a minor league deal Madson/Beltran Yes it is a jewish christmas but i don't need much. Ellsbury for Lincecum too.
  17. Interesting sample. Looks like he has some really nasty stuff at age 23, but can be hit.
  18. The D'Backs have moved on from Saunders, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com
  19. If Punto is coming in to wrap up and make clutch defensive plays at the end of the game (a la Mientkiewicz or Pokey), than I won't mind this move.
  20. Fair enough, but I'm more refuting Fred's point than yours. Smoltz and Penny were damaged, but the Sox can manage to take a risk on a guy like Saunders.
  21. I hope that rather than commit a lot of money to a high risk/high reward guy like Darvish / Madson, the Sox take a couple low risk/high reward chances, like Joe Saunders. Also, if we could get Andy Sonnanstine on a minor league deal with incentives I'd be intrigued. Why does everyone have to get so high strung about the Sox not dropping bank on a big name. Do I even need to name off the low risk/high reward guys that have paid off in the last decade? The biggest spenders in baseball last year took chances with Garcia and Colon and look how that paid off. Keep Bard in the pen and let him close. When it comes down to it he's a power pitcher and he should use Spring Training to get control problems settled rather that stretching out his arm. If he can get those BB's down and the K's up, the Sox have their new Papelbon.
