  1. 1) Drew played at Florida State. 2) I don't think Drew would care enough to flip off the crowd.
  2. Even if Sampras was in his prime, I still think Federer would beat him.
  3. I agree that it makes no sense to do this. However, I don't think it takes away from their accomplishments. Like I said (and you played football at one point, so you know where I'm coming from), the game is not won by watching another team's signals. It's won in preparation. rsr, I understand that whether we would have won or not isn't the issue, and I'm certainly not defending the Pats (I hope you don't think I am), but the people who think the Pats should forfeit this game are crazy if they think the Jets had a chance. I heard on WEEI just now that the NFL will fine Belichick $500,000 personally (meaning that Kraft can NOT pay for it). I have also heard that the NFL is thinking of forcing the Pats to forfeit their 1st and 3rd round picks in the upcoming draft. That's a good punishment. Hit him hard in the wallet, and make them miss out on the early rounds of the draft. Suck up the consequences, and move on.
  4. Damn. That sucks.
  5. Suspending Belichick for the game against the Jets would be a fair punishment. Let's see how Belichick responds to this. I'm eager for his explanation. I'm not as irritated as I was when I first heard about this because it definitely seems like it's something that every team in the league would do. I was listening to EEI this morning and Dennis and Callahan were grilling the Pats for this, but kept it in perspective. They talked about how so many teams aren't saying anything because they all do it...when the Packers escorted the cameraman out of Lambeau last season, they didn't confiscate the tape and send it to the commissioner because they knew that they did it as well. We'll see what happens. All in all it's not really that big of a deal in that there could have been a much worse rule that the Pats could have broken. It doesn't take away from any of their accomplishments in the past, and it certainly doesn't take away anything from this past Sunday's game. The Jets were outplayed in every facet of the game. Randy Moss out-running a triple team for the TD wasn't because we knew what signs they were showing. It's because he's a hard-working, fast receiver with great hands and has a quarterback that can put the ball in the right place more often than not.
  6. He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Magic number down to 12.
  7. ORTIZ LEADS THE SOX TO A WALK-OFF WIN!!!!!!! 5-4!!!! Nice time for his first walk-off of the year, eh?
  8. I don't know...that's my point. That's why I said there probably isn't any other way to interpret it. All I'm saying is that Belichick could say something that none of us are thinking about (unlikely, I know).
  9. ...that wasn't even close to being a swing.
  10. This Chicken McNuggets rap commercial is really f***ing irritating.
  11. So yeah, Tek is pretty much spot on.
  12. Like I said, let's wait until we see what the actual rule is. Belichick met with Goodell to discuss his interpretation of the rule, so we'll see what he has to say. This COULD be one big misunderstanding. I'm not saying it is (and it's probably likely that it's not), but there's still a whole defense to be heard.
  13. As the saying goes, it's only cheating if you're caught. So, whether you believe that saying or not, the Pats cheated. However, I'm interested to hear what Belichick's interpretation of the rule is. Let's be reasonable here, none of us know what that rule states specifically. I'm sure we'll get the details soon enough. If Belichick had a reasonable interpretation of the rules that led to this, then I'll see what I think. However, if it's ********, I'll be irritated. I'm sure it goes on a lot, but it seems weird that the Pats would do it again if they were "caught" once before. All I ask is that people wait until the Pats get their chance to explain themselves. You know me, I won't defend them if it's unreasonable, but we don't know what the rule states and if we can see how it could have been taken differently than intended, then maybe it'll make a bit more sense. A lot of you despise the Patriots, and that's okay. It's your right as a sports fan. But at least don't let that hate play with your rationality at this point in time. Let the Pats defend themselves, and then pass judgment.
  14. Oh God. Another one? People will find anything to bitch about. IT'S ONE YEAR. CHILL OUT. He'll have better years. And by the way, if JD Drew happens to be a post-season hero (crossing my fingers), you're the first person that I expect to eat a s*** load of crow. And you're not allowed to get excited when he does something good either. Trade Coco, replace with Ellsbury, and keep Drew in RF. I always give adjustment years. I don't give a s*** what kind of emotion a player shows. Just because he doesn't show that he's pissed doesn't mean he isn't. It isn't about his emotion; it's about production. He's having a disappointing year, but there's nothing about the guy that I dislike personally. Would you be bitching if he didn't show emotion and was having a good year? I don't think so. What you're doing is complaining that he isn't as much of a dirt dog as Trot was. It's a very flawed way of looking at things. Even if he was getting pissed publicly and throwing s*** around, you would still be on his case because of a lack of production. That's what it comes down to. I don't care about emotion, I care about production. While I'm disappointed with his performance this year, s*** happens. He's having a bad year. There will be better ones. I always allow for an adjustment year, and then I look for an increase in production. If he's still s***ing bricks come next season, I'll be annoyed. But now? Not so much. He's frustrating, but I'm not giving up on him.
  15. And do what? Refund every single ticket that's already been paid for?
  16. I wasn't pointing you out or anything. Didn't mean to make it sound that way.
  17. Oh, sorry. I started doing my picks before He Hate Me posted, so I didn't know it had already been taken (yes, it takes me about 10 minutes to do my picks because I like to think them through unless I'm in a rush, lol). Switched.
  18. Either way, like Kilo said, the Jets got dominated in every single possible way.
