    I understand that STL has the potential to win. My point was that he left to cash-in, while at the SAME time looking for a place to continue to win. He left STL because he wanted to get paid, but still wanted to win, and Boston's a perfect fit. I don't mean that he left STL because he didn't think they had the potential to win, obviously they do. I meant he wanted this combination: more $$$ + winning (boston) = Rent's new home.

    There's no excuse for head-butting an umpire with the force he did one day. I almost wanted Moose to get that no-hitter instead of watching Carl f***ing Everett, probably the last person on the team, I would want to see break something like that up.

    Yeah, there's not too much talk in here because the Sox vs. Sox game is on and it's only preseason, so people aren't watching the preseason Pats game as closely as they would be.

    Well, Renteria could have easily won in St. Louis as well. Going into this season the Red Sox had more questions than the Cards, I believe. We were wondering how Wells and Clement would fare, and Miller when he returned healthy. Would Tek still be a solid catcher? Were Payton/Vazquez suitable replacements for Roberts? How much would the loss of Kapler affect us? The only real question that the Cards had was: How well would Eckstein cover Rent's tracks? They added Mulder to their rotation and obviously with that offense, they can make any pitcher that's pitching for them look good. I think Renteria left because he wanted a better deal on a team that had the potential of winning. Obviously, all these questions paid off for both teams, but imagine if they hadn't? Edgahhhh would have been better of in St. Louis.

    They didn't need him. We have Tom Brady who is 49528692586359683 times better. Besides, that Dallas organization is shaping up but Bledsoe doesn't have enough weapons. Terry Glenn, Julius Jones, and who else?

    Yeah...I saw Kapler outside the Chestnut Hill cinema after going to dodgeball with my friend. He had people swamping him and I could tell he was pissed off. But yeah, he's huge when up close.
