  1. Abreu and Myers for Manny. We need to seriously start asking for the same amount of talent as Manny in return. This is starting to get rediculous. Abreu WILL NOT replace Manny alone. Maybe add Burrell instead of Myers. Or maybe Myers and Burrell? I'm not sure. But we need at least a combo of players. Good ones too.
  2. I don't want Adam Dunn. He K's wayy too much.
  3. Ok, I don't want any cash prize, but I'll do this for fun: 12/4 1:00 ET At Miami............... Buffalo 12/4 1:00 ET At Pittsburgh......... Cincinnati 12/4 1:00 ET At Baltimore.......... Houston 12/4 1:00 ET At Indianapolis.......Tennessee 12/4 1:00 ET Jacksonville............At Cleveland 12/4 1:00 ET At NY Giants...........Dallas 12/4 1:00 ET At Chicago.............Green Bay 12/4 1:00 ET Minnesota..............At Detroit 12/4 1:00 ET At Carolina.............Atlanta 12/4 1:00 ET Tampa Bay.............At New Orleans 12/4 4:05 ET Arizona..................At San Francisco 12/4 4:05 ET Washington............At St. Louis 12/4 4:15 ET At New England......NY Jets 12/4 4:15 ET Denver..................At Kansas City 12/4 8:35 ET At San Diego..........Oakland Monday Night Football 12/5 9:05 ET Seattle...................At Philadelphia
  4. It's similar to our signing of Wade Miller last year. Although I don't want a Wade Miller part 2.
  5. The way I look at Lowell basically is that he's an all-star 3rd basemen. He is. He had the worst season he's ever had last year, and now I look at it that he can only get better, because basically, you can't do any worse than he did last year. I think he'll have many field days with the Monster in LF, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to offer. I think everyone needs to get off his back a bit. Lowell had ONE bad year and tore it up the year before, and did well the year before that and so on. I'm excited for the players we brought in.
  6. ^^Where'd you get that from? Interesting.
  7. Well, not anymore ... Konerko's signed.
  8. Well as long as people are talking about Lester's future in Boston with everything going on with Manny, I decided to ask Jim Callis on SportsNation on ESPN.com what he thought about Lester. He basically thinks Lester's going no where: Zach (Boston, MA) I've heard a lot of rumors about Lester's name being thrown around possibly in a trade combined with Manny. I'm not a big fan of this. What do you foresee in Jon Lester's future, AND how effective do you think he'll be down the stretch for this ball club? JIM CALLIS Lester would have gone in the aborted A-Rod trade with Texas, and the Marlins wanted him in the Beckett deal. But Zach, rest easy. I don't think Lester is going anywhere. He's a big, physical lefty who's close to ready for the majors and a potential star. Hahah, no new information, but I just felt happy that he answered my question
  9. Not to mention Erstad has some serious wheels for a 1B.
  10. We never said it was out of the question. You just kept bringing up tons of possibilities, that together, none of them would happen. I don't think any of us really doubted the fact that the Sox were interested in Soriano.
  11. It's okay. I accept the apology. But lately I guess you've been saying sorry for "not wording things correctly" a lot.
  12. Well, that's pretty different from being a LOCK for the 2007 Opening Day.
  13. EDIT EDIT EDIT. Because apparently we love EDITING posts.
  14. He's a lock? I disagree. Beckett will be unless Papelbon proves superiority, or unless we get someone else. You do realize you're saying that in ONE year, we will be talking about Lester starting our next regular season game?
  15. I'm not big on trading Lester. Besides, the Mariners would never give up King Felix.
  16. Wait, didn't he JUST post that same thing in the other Manny Trades thread...? Yeah he did.
  17. There's no way that happens. The Marlins are looking to build their future franchise around the likes of D-Train and Cabrera. Besides, giving up Papelbon AND Manny AND cash is way too much on our part. If we are trading Manny, we have to look for a fair trade and get what we rightfully should in return. Besides, the Marlins aren't THAT desperate anymore for dumping salary. EDIT: After thinking this through, the more I tend to like it. My bad on thinking we give too much up. But it still won't happen because the D-Train and Cabrera are the "untouchables" of Marlins, if you will.
  18. Eh, I'd like to see him maintain his dominance before I go fishing for him.
  19. Hmm...so you care more about someone making a joke about Irvin than someone dissing you? Okay brotha.. We never said you can't say anything. Normally when this many people are against you it's also a sign that you're in over your head. But whatever. We're basically saying you're overreacting. More of us would like to joke about it than be serious about it. You could have entered this thread, taken it with a grain of salt, and left it and never checked it again. But instead, you chose to basically tell us how bad we are because we wouldn't like it if someone did it to us. This isn't kindergarten, so stop giving us a ******** lesson, and we'll leave you alone.
  20. That's not what I'm gunna say. Quite frankly, I just don't care if I meet him or not. Why would I have to meet him? I'll crack a joke about whoever the hell I want, and whenever the hell I want. Have you met him? Do you know he's not snorting crack? People crack jokes about me all the time. Do I really care? NO. Because it's all in good fun. If I actually DID MEET him I'd be respectful. But you can joke about whatever, and even if I did meet him, I'd still joke about this. Just leave it alone. It has no impact on you. Laughing is better than stressing.
  21. First of all, let me make something clear: He was not making a joke AGAINST Irvin. He merely said that he was on his way to "Ricky William's" house. That's more of a shot against Ricky than anyone else. Also, how can you compare Lavar Arrington not playing to this situation? Lavar Arrington not playing isn't funny, not like it's a serious matter, it's just not funny. As in, I don't laugh at it because it's not funny, not because I think it's serious. Getting caught with a crack pipe is funny, no matter who you are...especially if you're someone like Irvin who sometimes acts like a crackhead on Countdown anyway. Lavar not playing ... for Christ's sake I don't even know how you compared those 2 situations. They're COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I'll answer your question so you can save some finger muscle though: Yes, I WOULD laugh if Corey Dillon was caught. Or Branch, or Brady, or Eugene Wilson, or Mark "Blunt" of the Celtics. Yankeessuck013 made a funny little joke. Stop s***ing your pants over it.
  22. Okay, not intended to be extremely mean or anything, but the way your defending Irvin makes you sound like, well, a little bitch. People are just cracking some jokes. There are always going to be jokes. Just go with it and have a laugh. I guarantee you won't sound so tense. But yeah, not meant to be mean, just a little observation on my part.
  23. Yessss!!! All the oldies are back!! What's goin up dudes? And nice spreadsheet
  24. What? Hahahah no you don't. But I guess that COULD be considered one... but just not the one I'm talking about.
  25. Too much IMO. Including Arroyo, Nixon, and 2 prospects doesn't appeal to me. We should give them Wells if anything. But that's why I just don't see this happening. I'm not willing to give up a Lester, Papelbon, Youk or Hansen. Not happening. Again, he will most likely be dealt to the NL as stated before.
