  1. Meh, I guess I'll start this one. I know I lost, but hey, I did win one of the games on Sunday....how often do teams win both games of a double header? Should be a great pitching match up tonight, Santana vs. Schilling. Go Sox! Game Info: Date: Tuesday, June 13th, 2006 First Pitch: 8:10pm EST Location: Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, Minneapolis, Minnesota TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4267.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6441.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#38 Curt Schilling (9-2, 3.81) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/min.gif#57 Johan Santana (6-4, 3.16)
  2. The BH forum? *Shudder* It's also quite possible that Pujols is just the best hitter to ever play. Besides, being able to make the contact that he does in the first place (nevermind the power) on some of these pitches is absolutely incredible. Making contact with the ball isn't an upgrade when steroids/illegal supplements are taken.
  3. We're going streaking!!!!!!!
  4. I'll eat some money if it means losing less as a result of his shittiness.
  5. I agree with that bullpen, but I would switch Tavarez with Seanez. If we're getting rid of 1 of the 2, Tavarez gets the boot. Seanez hasn't been sucking as badly lately.
  6. Hey hey! Guy walks into a bar right? He says "Ow." :harhar:
  7. :what: Hahahaha Optimist that was so hilariously bad that I actually laughed.
  8. Your brother wanted me to post the following: -He's only scared of spiders and their webs, but not dogs -He didn't say YanksHater was a pussy -YanksHater won the match 6-3, 6-4 That is all. EDIT: Yeszir, he also wanted me to say that you are fat. He wants you to walk the 2 feet to his room and confront him.
  9. Wait, did you just support bringing up a talented prospect to replace a veteran? I'm just kidding. I totally agree with you. I'd much rather watch Hansen struggle a little bit and get better than watch Tavarez and Seanez suck it up.
  10. Hahahahahahaahaahaaaahha, did he tell you about our Russian driver's ed teacher today? God, that class is going to suck so much ass.
  11. Well, you should just take Cora out of there. It wouldn't be any better if Gonzo was in there. I was one of the few people that supported Cora as our everyday SS before we signed Gonzo. I love it when I see his name in the lineup. Anyway, if we had lost that first game I doubt we would have had that bad of a lineup for the second game. You can't have banged up players (like Youk) play both games in a double header. It doesn't make sense. You also don't want to increase their fatigue. I personally think knowing that we won the first game and that the Yankees lost helped Francona to sort of throw away this game with a less-than-mediocre lineup. I think he already knew that Pauley was going to get hit hard against a cream of the crop Texas lineup, so he just wanted to suck Game 2 up and get through it, because at the end of the day we'd be at least 1 game up on New York even if we lost Game 2. If we lost Game 1, that means that if we lost Game 2 as well we'd be tied. I'm sure you would have seen a much better lineup if this was the situation than what you saw. I know you're going to say that the possibility of being up 2 games should have influenced his decision as well, but when it came down to it, we would have been ahead of them at the end of the day. And while we go out to Minnesota to face an average Twins team (and not needing to face Liriano, I might also add), the Yankees can host the Guardians and their offense and hopefully that will add some distance between us. It was a harsh game to watch with a terrible lineup, but I'm happy with where we stand at the moment. Let those players get some playing time, and move onto Minnesota.
  12. Thanks Bud! You clearly know how to punish these athletes who already know they're never going to play an MLB game again! Thanks for suspending the lost cause in Grimsley!
  13. He's a great quarterback, and I hope he gets better, but what an idiotic thing to do. Riding without a helmet with everyone telling him to stop riding in the first place, and being a quarterback making millions of dollars that he may lose....idiot. I hope he gets better and plays to the best of his ability, he's a very skilled guy, and I realize that this incident doesn't make him a bad person (like the guy in the video said), but it was an idiotic thing to do.
  14. Hahahah SFOC, nice observation Maybe he joined, but didn't really think about posting until he was motivated to become more active when Papi hit the walkoff?
  15. He said 2004, so he meant us (Red Sox). But yes, like See Red said, they brought in Washburn. He faced Ortiz, there's not much you can do whether you're a lefty or not when facing this guy.
  16. Thank God we don't see Liriano. That is all. Annnnnd the update...I guess the mojo didn't show up today, or it got worn out when Papi muscled one out. :dunno: schillingouttheks: 13-6 jsinger121: 3-1 RedSoxRooter: 3-1 riverside sluggers: 3-1 MANNYHOF24: 2-1 Beckett95: 3-3 Coco's Disciples: 2-2 NomahsHammSammich: 1-0 bosoxgirl34: 1-0 Soxfan#1: 1-0 Youk of the Nation: 1-0 ACL BoSox: 1-1 KeepTheFaith1229: 1-1 yankeessuck013: 1-1 yeszir: 0-1 stocker323: 0-1 One Red Seat: 0-1 Rdsxmbnt: 0-1 redoctober: 0-1 Record where the psychadelic mojo has been interrupted: 6-9
  17. I'm sure Tek would have caught him if there wasn't a double header. Let him develop down in Pawtucket. I think he'll do well if we gradually increase his competition instead of ruining him by keeping him at the major league level. I think he'll do well in AAA and in a couple of years he can be a bottom of the rotation guy for us. A good one at that.
  18. The A's just swept the Yanks. They need some of their injured players back badly.
  19. Street gets Cairo. 2 more to go, but holding only a 1 run lead against this Yankee lineup is anything but certain.
  20. 26 to 6 is actually the guy who's pretty supportive of Melky. Nevermind, supportive was an understatement. He seems to have a f***ing man crush on that guy.
  21. I look for a great ovation from the fans to appreciate what Pauley's done.
  22. Under. I say 5 though. 23. Well, won the first one THANKS TO BIG PAPI ORTIZZLE. Here's to hoping I can give us a second win! Finally after a long wait, this double header can be played. The other make up game is scheduled for July 20th on a mutual off day if any of you were curious. I'm looking forward to see what Pauley can do tonight. Go Sox! Game Info: Date: Sunday, June 11th, 2006 First Pitch: 5:05pm EST Location: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/5490.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://soxprospects.com/players/images/pauley.david.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/tex.gif#47 John Wasdin (0-0, 0.00) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#60 David Pauley (0-1, 6.55) Because I need an article in here, and because there aren't any previews for the second game that I can find, I'll just post the ESPN.com recap of the first game... Wasdin has pitched 2.1 innings this season, facing 7 batters, giving up no hits, and striking out 2.
  24. It's all because I started the thread. I'll get on game 2's thread right now. THANK YOU PAPI.
  25. Been awhile since I started one of these. Hope I can get Beckett and the Sox back on track. Bring out the bats! Let's go Sox!
