It's amazing how the Yankees were able to keep up with the Sox throughout the season. They made every move necessary to keep their championship hopes alive for THIS SEASON. The Red Sox basically threw their hopes for this season down the gutter by not doing anything to help this team at all. No trade, nothing at all to help us. Meanwhile, the Yankees have kids like Melky Cabrera and Andy Phillips step up, and they go out and get Abreu and Lidle. That is what champions do. The way they've played through this season while missing Sheffield and Matsui, basically 2 of their top 3 reliable bats, is absolutely impressive.
I hate the Yankees with everything I have, I really do. But goddamn, do I respect them.
