  1. Why Pauley? He was absolutely dreadful with us, minus his start against the Yanks, which he will most likely never do again. Give Gabbard another shot, he didn't do too bad against the M's.
  2. Can you please stop with the STFU? You look like an idiot. Did you even read the thread? Of course he instigated it. Everything was fine until he stuck his nose in here, which he normally does after a Red Sox loss, and antagonized us. It's that simple.
  3. No. We as fans don't need to eat anything. We pay ridiculous ticket prices to help the Boston Red Sox, and this is what gets put on the field with our money. If anyone should eat s***, it's the FO, playoffs or not. Us fans have put up with every single s*** show that got put out there this season. The s*** stays off our plates.
  4. I was just about to say... Out of everything that's going on with the Red Sox today, you have the energy to post something like this tonight? Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.
  5. Anyway, I have noticed that the server has been unusually slow lately as well.
  6. Have you yelled at the server host yet?
  7. Snyder can't be worse than Johnson. I'm happy.
  8. Gabbard, please. Any word on Wake's progress?
  9. Any word on who the PTBNL was? Sorry if I missed it in the thread... Coco's Disciples - as for Foulkie, I heard somewhere that he will be activated for tonight's game to have a fresh arm in the 'pen tonight, and then he'll stay there from here on out.
  10. Hinske was supposed to be an animal up in Toronto, but I don't know what happened. Hopefully some work with Papa Jack can turn his career around. A WMP/Hinske platoon is so much better than Nixon everyday with an occasional WMP appearance.
  11. You guys should listen to yourselves (in regard to the fatass thing).
  12. Even all the sportswriters are writing this off. However, if it came out that he did indeed use steroids, he better leave New England as quick as possible.
  13. I'll also bring this one back up
  14. Get yourself and the spam in your sig out of here. You haven't posted in over a year and let's not forget what you said back in February of '05 ( after quitting your team in the sim league ... *gasp* ): Go. Away.
  15. Ok, well, sorry I have to make the threads early but tomorrow we're going out all day somewhere and I won't have time to make it before gametime. So, I will just make it now and just revive it tomorrow. The Sox got a nice sweep of the Orioles, and some nice momentum, heading into the series with the Tigers, who were roughed up by the White Sox over the weekend. Beckett needs to be big today to put the fire out of those bats, and we need to jump on Robertson early, as their bullpen doesn't give much up. The Yankees have one more game against the Angels before they take on Baltimore, so today is huge. A Yankees loss and a Sox win will put us right back in a tie for first place, and bring us right where we need to be. Go Sox! Game Info: Date: Monday, August 14th, 2006 First Pitch: 7:05pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/images/2005/06/12/GLCFaoef.jpg http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/20060411/beckett_57671.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/det.gif#29 Nate Robertson (10-8, 3.82) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#19 Josh Beckett (13-6, 4.92) Today's mojo: http://www.terradaily.com/images/tiger-dead-spain-afp-bg.jpg DEAD TIGER MOJO!!!!!!!!! Yeah...revive the thread again tomorrow. I jump on this computer only when I have spare time to make a thread.
  16. Morgan and Hornsby
  17. I dunno what happened with him this year, but something's going right. Assuming he can continue to just do what he's been doing, he'd fit right in to the back of the rotation.
  18. Sorry for the incredibly early start to the thread, but I need to go to sleep soon, and I won't have a chance to make a thread tomorrow because I need to get to Logan 3 hours before I leave for Florida on a plane at 12. The game's at 1:20, so you can see how I need to make it now if I'm going to continue the gamethread tradition. Anywayyyyyyyyy, the last game for the Sox was great. A nice offensive explosion, a great pitching performance from Wells and Snyder (despite the 11 hits, but that's an upgrade from what had been previously going on), and some great defense. I'm hoping that this is a sign of good things to come, as we'll need all the fortune we can get as Jason Johnson goes out on the mound for this game. Keep up the heated bats, pick up Johnson with our defense, and Johnson needs to go 5+ and just give us a chance to win. The resurgence of our bats should help. Go Sox! Game Info: Date: Saturday, August 12th, 2006 First Pitch: 1:25pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: FOX Starting Pitchers: http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/20050930/kris_79319.jpg http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/20050618/johnson_79920.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bal.gif#34 Kris Benson (9-9, 4.71) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#18 Jason Johnson (3-11, 5.96) Today's mojo (I'm just going to continue the "dead" mojo, as it worked yesterday, but it's a different picture): http://www.birdlife.org/images/sized/400/e_dead_bulgarian_birds.jpg.jpg DEAD ORIOLES MOJO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But yes, just revive this thread around gametime tomorrow. Again, sorry for starting it so soon.
  19. You forgot the rejuvenated "schillingouttheks" mojo!
  20. Back to 2 games, now 3 in the loss column. We need to get closer to them while we have the O's. We should have had no problem with KC, but we really need to take advantage of Baltimore while the Yankees have the Angels, who always give them a hard time.
  21. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said he was worthless, and yes, I do buy into the "Tek calls a good game" theory. I believe Tek made Papelbon into the superhuman force he was (of course, it's Papelbon himself too, but I do believe if he had Javy, Corky, or 'Belli catching him all year, he wouldn't be anywhere close to this). I buy into it because of his work ethic off the field. He does his research on opposing players better than any other catcher in the league. Do you really think it's a coincidence that Papelbon's started to look rocky right around the time that Tek went down? I don't. I know it's nothing to worry about, but if Tek was catching him I am 99.9% certain that Papelbon never would have blown back to back save opportunities. Beckett has been disappointing this year because, IMO, he's going through a transition year. Besides, can Tek be held responsible for all of the homeruns that Beckett has given up? No, that's Beckett being s***** himself. I think Tek calls a good game, but it's up to the pitchers to deliver, and that's why I think Tek is a major reason that our pitching has hit rock bottom (minus tonight, Wells was amazing). It's great to see Lopez look more comfortable with the pitching staff. I think once or twice through the rotation helped him adjust quite well.
  22. I really don't care. All the sports here are great, and that's all that matters. Trying to pick a state sport is like trying to pick a state dessert...it's stupid and no one will ever see eye to eye.
  23. I am so pumped about Maroney it's not even funny.
