  1. With posts like that, Thumper continues to give evidence as to his account being a fake. I don't buy how any "fan" could think of Wakefield as a selfish player. Absolutely unreal. Thumper, honestly, did you become a fan post-2004? You're acting like you did. I consistently wonder if your infatuation with Ted Williams (not that he's a bad favorite player...but you're consistently on his balls in a metaphoric kind of way, obviously) is a way of you covering the lenth of your fandom up.
  2. I refer you to this post. My link wasn't meant to prove that he broke a rule...just that Torre disapproved. It's not an unwritten rule. (Just go to ORS's actual post. The link in the quote just brings you to the top of the page of the entire rules. It's a pain in the ass to find.)
  3. The difference between the hidden ball trick and A-Rod's incident is that the hidden ball trick doesn't break rules. Sure, you try to "trick" the opposing player, but if the baserunner is dumb enough to see the pitcher off the rubber and takes a lead anyway, that's his fault. Whatever, the more I debate about this the more I see that it's really dumb. Clark should have just caught the damn ball, and A-Rod should have kept his mouth shut but who cares anymore.
  4. If the Sox win the next two, you guys are in serious trouble.
  5. Well...he did the break rules in doing it. And even Joe Torre says A-Rod was out of line.
  6. In fairness, Barrett had it coming to him. I hate Pierzynski just as much as the next guy, but after Barrett socked AJ in the mouth last year you just knew it was going to come back around to him. I don't think it was just for the passed ball though. Passed balls happen a lot and Zambrano's pitch had a LOT of movement to it, so it's understandable as to how Barrett missed it. If you watch the play you can see how Barrett's glove is positioned to his right side of the plate but the ball takes a sharp dive to his left. I believe Zambrano was more pissed about the bad throw that ended up in left field and the subsequent run that scored.
  7. The first person to hit someone won't get thrown out, but warnings will be handed out to both sides for sure after the first bean ball. He's addressing last night's situation because that's when it happened...what's wrong with that? He's also right in that Proctor isn't known for head hunting.
  8. I think Proctor did it on his own accord. I really don't think Posada thought it was intentional mainly because of his body language right after the pitch was thrown. It is of course quite possible that he missed up and in, but MLB pitchers are too good to miss up and in like THAT. Sure, people get hid in the head from time to time, but the situation in which the incident occurred leads me to believe that it wasn't so unintentional. You can't cool Ortiz off with a brush back pitch. He's never been phased by those. Besides, if you were to throw inside at Ortiz, what message are you trying to send exactly? Stop raping us or we'll hit you? It made sense to throw inside to Youkilis because other than Pedroia, he's been the hottest hitter on the team. 6 run lead in the 9th with the opposing teams' batter coming to the plate? Seems like a perfect opportunity. Proctor may have thrown some strikes so that it didn't look intentional. Like I said, I think Proctor decided to do that by himself.
  9. I would rather not see any drama today and just win the damn game. Youk's going to come back strong and I just want Schill to pitch to win. Beckett and his heat can take care of the drama tomorrow.
  10. Drew is not a s***** player. Prove to me that he is. I dare you.
  11. Stupidity. I s*** you not. The mods convened and we decided it was for the best interest of the site... The rules DO say you can be banned for being an idiot...
  12. Thumper and TW101 go through the funniest mindf***s when Drew doesn't come through. I know he hasn't done much, but you guys bitch about it EVERY TIME. Haha A-Rod.
  13. Great f***in' job Pedroia!!!! Kid's a stud.
  14. Blah, the forecast says scattered thunderstorms all night. Hopefully it's not a big deal with the game.
  15. Eh, it stopped outside my house. I live like 10 minutes from Fenway...it was just thunder and lightning a second ago but now it stopped altogether.
  16. Boondock Saints is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.
  17. Alriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Yanks vs. Sox Round 4 baby. Let's just sweep them and knock them the f*** out of contention, how's that sound? Wake in game 1, Schilling in game 2, and Beckett in game 3. I'm feeling good about tonight so I wanted to throw some schillingouttheks mojo out there... GO SOX!
