  1. Yeah, I have Comcast too and both NESN and NESN HD are struggling. f***ing sucks and irritating as hell. IT JUST DID IT AGAIN. GODDAMN IT.
  2. Jesus Christ. What the hell? Mark Ellis?
  3. Except that they're not walking him...
  4. Not sure if I like the bunt there...he's been swinging a hot stick.
  5. 'Atta boy Lugo. That's what we need out of you.
  6. Well, Samuel didn't even show up at Hill's funeral, so I'm pretty sure you can forget about him showing up at all this year. I doubt the rest of the team will allow him to even sniff the lockerroom.
  7. You really are Whatever, it goes with being a Sox fan I guess Trust me, the Wingman mojo WILL come through tonight.
  8. Hahaha. In summary, it's actually not that much of a blow up. The final product he's suggesting doesn't have as many tweaks as the thread title suggests.
  9. Love the Hee Seop Choi reference. But yeah, that guy sucks. Anyway, that's what I meant. Despite Lugo's low average, he's producing runs for us. And even though Drew's not hitting that well either, he's still getting on base about 25-30ish points above average. I agree with most of the sentiment around Drew though. It was never his talent in question, just his will to be on the field and do what he's capable of. It was, however, a little disheartening to see him not get up to play for the Yankees series. If you can't suck it up and play the Yankees in the town, then get out. Despite this, I'll still give him time to be the fifth hitter that Theo thinks he can be. Hopefully he's right.
  10. Do you watch Dice-K? He throws soft? Did I just read right? You've seen him pitch for two months. How can you call him overrated? Let me ask you something, what did you think of Beckett last year? Was he overrated too? Did we make a horrible trade? (Just quote my post and copy it so we can talk about this in today's gamethread. I just made one.)
  11. Alrighty, today we're getting this train back on track tonight. We're facing Lenny DiNardo. Lenny friggin' DiNardo. This could mean two things: 1) We demolish him like the scrub that he is, or 2) we get absolutely owned because he's a soft-tossing lefty. Let's hope it's the former. GO SOX! Game Info: Date: Tuesday, June 5th, 2007 Teams: Boston Red Sox (37-19) @ Oakland Athletics (29-27) First Pitch: 10:05pm EDT Venue: McAfee Coliseum, Oakland, California TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://pics.forecaster.ca/mlb-player/6423.gifhttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://pics.forecaster.ca/mlb-player/4535.gif http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#18 Daisuke Matsuzaka (7-3, 4.83) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/oak.gif#56 Lenny DiNardo (1-2, 1.80) Mojo of the day: Today I'm going to give thanks to the underappreciated guy who takes one for the team. [youtube=Coors Light Mighty Wingman]NItiO8PFBu8 *This chick's rocking your bro on the dance floor* But she's towing an anchor A junior investment banker Who's talkin' 'bout herself and not much more Oooooohhh! So buy her a beer, it's the reason you're here Mighty wingman, You're taking one for the team So your buddy can live the dream. Wingmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! MIGHTY WINGMAN MOJO!
  12. Uh, as long as we're in the thread about yesterday's game, I'll talk about yesterday's game. I honestly don't understand how you can compare Chan Ho Park to Dice-K. You have absolutely no basis for it other than the fact that they're both Asian. Look at Dice-K's peripheral stats, then insert foot into mouth.
  13. I'm giving him 1, not 2. Trust me though...if he continues to suck it up everyone will be calling for his and Theo's head. But you have to understand that when you have the best record in baseball, guys like Drew and Lugo will fly under the radar.
  14. Griffey hit a homer in honor of someone...I forget though. Same type of situation.
  15. Holy hell Jacko. Interesting posts. Love it.
  16. Tavarez does suck. He's just lucky enough to keep us in games.
  17. The A-Rod homer bothered me, but when I looked at the standings I felt a little better. For whatever reason the Sox can't beat the Yanks right now in a 7-game series. They can play well against any other team and that's what's going to count as the season carries on. Hopefully, if we're lucky, we won't even have to worry about the Yankees in a 7-game series.
  18. Look. The Sox can now go back to the hotel, rest up for tomorrow, and come out strong for the game tomorrow night. For someone to say that the season is slipping away after losing 4 of the last 5 games while still holding the best record in baseball and being up 12.5 games on the Yankees is asinine to say the least. EDIT: My bad. He said he was kidding.
  19. Are you really being serious? Did you really expect the Sox to win games at a .700 clip all season long? You do know that teams go through funks no matter how good they are, right? And you do remember that we're still 12.5 up in the division with the Yankees still playing like s***, right?
