The JT Experiment has been great and I applaud him for everything he's done this year. That said, he's gotta go back to the pen. Maybe he has even showcased himself well enough to be traded for something in return. But he does not have a spot in this rotation anymore. Bring up Lester who could give us exactly what Tavarez has been giving us and hope for the best. Lester hasn't been doing as well as we'd like in AAA, but he'll do for now.

Coco has arguably been this team's best hitter since mid-June. The fact that his average is now at .260 after his start is what's remarkable. Drew's been coming around as well. I mean, I guess I wouldn't mind shipping Coco off to Cincinatti, but I have some serious apprehensions about Griffey's defense in Fenway's CF. Coco's been having an amazing year in that regard. That said, I agree with you in that if Griffey wears a Boston uniform, we find a place for him. Does anyone know when his contract expires? I have a feeling that if we acquire Griffey then we won't be shopping Ellsbury around at all.

We really can't start experimenting at this point. We need a proven veteran to come in and solidify our rotation. Right around now was the point last year where we started experimenting with the Snyders and Jason Johnsons of the world, and we all know how that ended up. Right now we're an injury away from our rotation completely falling apart. We need to add another starter.

They need to trade for Buehrle. That would put our rotation over the top even if Schilling doesn't come back as strong as we'd like. I don't care if Buehrle signed an extension...get him here. There isn't a no-trade clause in the extended contract, so he can be had. It benefits the White Sox as well because now that he's under contract for the next 5 years (if traded), they can get better prospects for him as opposed to what they'd get if Buehrle was a 2-month rental. Buehrle signing the extension was the first step towards getting the deal done, so hopefully we're heading in that direction. I have a feeling that Lester would already have been up here to help out (in place of Schilling instead of Gabbard taking that spot), but the coaches aren't satisfied with what they're seeing out of Lester. If Buchholz starts dominating in AAA out of the gate, he could be a very strong possibility as well. If I'm the Sox, I offer Lester + Bowden + Moss/Murphy and get Buehrle's ass over here. The good news about tonight is that the offense looks alive again; especially Ortiz and Manny. If they start to hit, very good things will happen. I still think we need an additional bat in the lineup though.
