  1. speaking of the game today, shouldn't someone start the thread for that game. I dont know if im allowed to cause i just joined. But it would be much easier?
  2. yeah and who say pokey's catch about two weeks ago. i was like crying. He got like 6 feet of air and just snagged that ball. That is some true fielding.
  3. WE are not out of it. Not at all. The redsox need to just gain a little momentum heading into the allstar break, and the second half of the season should be awesome.
  4. haha ok im sorry, i wasn;t saying it was bad. I was saying its good. I was just trying to make a comment.
  5. Speaking of Jeter and his fielding, who saw his "amazing" catch. I didn;t think it was all that amazing. He made a good hustle, but did he really need to go flying in the stands? Anyway, even with the flying, it still wasn't that great. I hate how on sportscenter everyone was like "No that is a true baseball player". You wanna see good fielding, look at pokey reese.
  6. yeah i guess you;re right. Just one time, about a year ago, i was watching a game with my fellow red sox fan. I shouted "YES, nice hit, we really needed that". Then he burst out on me. Telling me i was not part of the team, and i contributed nothing. I guess i was kinda scarred after that, and thats why i dont say it a lot. haha. But i won't be afraid to use it here.
  7. yeah i agree. I think the best thing to do would be to wait after the all start break, and see if there are any signs of improvement. Then, if he still sux, the sox should start thinking about it.
  8. I love how everyone says we as if they are a part of the team. I haven't really noticed that too, but just about everyone says it. Im sure i've said it too. It just goes to show how great the redsox fans are.
  9. The past few games Lowe has pitched have been quite upsetting. He pitches 4 great innings, but then he just crumbles and gives up something like eight earned runs. Maybe he would be more comfortable in the bullpen, but then who whould fill his spot in the rotation? Williamson is a possibility, but he might not be ready. I just wanted to see what thoughts you guys had on this topic.
  10. It was a great streak, but i still dont think it was the best streak ive seen. Dimaggio's hit streak was better, and so was Oral Hershieser's (however u spell it) 6 game shutout streak. I hope there is more to come from gagne tho, he was great
  11. nice game, nice win. Great performance by Wake, and Damon was amazing. Im still upset with Oritz' 0 for 5 performance, but its ok. Hopefully, Pedro can come and shut them down tommorrow also.
  12. im dissapointed in ortizzle. two times hes up with the bases loaded and no outs, and two times he fails to do anything. Anyway, 9-0 sox... YESSSSS
  13. sorry i gotta do like 3 posts in a row... but bases loaded and no outs. And here comes the RBI Machine (Ortiz). I feel a Grand Slam. CMON
  14. Manny with the nice catch. How bout this season his having out in left field. Not too shabby.
  15. Johnny's beard is back. Im usually not a person who believes in curses, but doesn;t it seem like redsox were winning more with his jesus look. Then when he shaved it, things fell downhill?
  16. O Byrnes with the nice catch to rob Manny. Lucky. I guess hes trying to make up for his idiotic move of not touching the plate in the ALDS. Haha, what a moron.
  17. I just wanted to bring this up. Before the sox got Mirrabelli, did Varitek catch for wakefield. I dont really remember. I just wanted to clarify that, but Mrrabellia is having a pretty good year for a back up catcher. Im pretty impressed.
  18. haha thats ironic. As soon as i say that, mueller jacks one over the monster. Haha. YESSS
  19. Ok 2 in scoring position and only 1 out. They need to cash in. If the sox strand as many runners as they have been the past few games, there is no way they can win anything.
  20. I just wanted to make a note that Beltran isn;t really on the allstar team. He is selected as one, but he is not allowed to play. I dont really understand how that all worked out, but i think its pretty unfair.
  21. I agree that this is significant for control of the wild card, but i disagree with crespoblows. I think the sox need to take a clean sweep of oakland here, and then move into texas with momentum. If the sox can finish at the top of the wild card by the all star break, that would be awesome.
  22. haha more like team first, team second, family third
  23. Hey everyone. I just joined this site, and im happy to be here. One of my "friends" from college told me abuot this site, unfortunately he is a yankees fan. I decided to join after reading through some of the posts. I have been a redsox fan for all my life (22 years). My favorite player on the redsox right now is Ortiz. I have to say Mo Vaughn is my favorite sox player of all time, i just loved watching him crush the ball. I just want to fill you in on something that has scarred me for almost all my life. I was four, and i was visiting my grandparents in New York in October of 1986. (You can see where this is going). I considered myself a redsox fan at the time, but I hardly knew anything about the team (And i had never been to a game). My Dad surprised me with World Series tickets to game 6 at Shea Stadium. I was really excited, and i covered myself in redsox logos. I had a hat, little pants, and a little jersey. Anyway, i dont remember much from the game, except one harsh moment. My dad was on his feet, and he was holding me on his back. He was trembling with excitement, but i had no clue what was going on. Then all of a sudden, he started shouted and flung me off his back onto the ground. He started cursing at the top of his lungs. Bill Buckner had just let the ball slip through his legs. And there i was, lying on the floor of Shea Stadium, crying and yelling. Just thought I'd share my first game experience with you guys. Haha, sorry if I brough back some bad feelings. Well i look forward to posting here in the future.
