  1. Where have you been reading all these articles? I haven't heard Mueller's name mentioned all that much. On Friday night's TV38 game, Sean McDonough mentioned him and that's the first time I've heard his name in over a week.
  2. The 1916 World Series home games (games 1,2 & 5) for the Red Sox were played in Braves Field to handle the crowds demanding to see the games. And the Dodgers were known as the Robins at that time. No game were played in Fenway Park in the 1916 WS.
  3. Supposedly, the Nomar/Pokey combo was going to be the great double-play team. Finally when that combo became available to him, Francona didn't even use it. His excuse was "Pokey needs to get acclimated to 2B"..............what, BY NOT PLAYING? And McCarty should have been at 1B.
  4. That woman was more than likely extremely ugly to begin with and just wanted the Sox to pay for "prettying her up". Hey, she should be happy as she now has a nice set of matching plates............in her face.
  5. Thank-you.
  6. Bad fielding plus bad pitching = San Diego-8 Boston-1......everything was wrong about this game, including the weather.
  7. ..........And Crespo remains.

    Buckley

Ummmmm, yeah I know that. My point was that these guys return to the same team over and over. D'oh
  9. Because Crespo plays infield positions, outfield positions and is not bad as a pinch-runner.
  10. I just wet my pants.
  11. After the game, Pedro said in his last two outings he had problems with his control on the breaking stuff, which led him to throw more fastballs. Throwing mostly fastballs made him pretty easy to figure out. Warm weather helps also.
  12. That uniform sat in a bureau in the guys attic for 40 some years; had I known that, I would have taken out my roll of bills and peeled off a couple of double sawbucks for that fine gent.
  13. Why just the other day, Derek Lowe got a guy out in the first inning before he gave up two runs. Scary!!!!!
  14. Okay, I'm in. Wow, that was easy.
  15. To whoever it was that paid $70,000 for Ted's old uniform.......I hoped you tried it on before you bought it.
  16. Congrats to Tampa for winning the Stanley Cup. Who would have thought that a city that can't even make outside ice in the winter would win a Stanley Cup!! I would like to drink Kool-Aid from the Cup.....

    Buckley

Saw where the Patriots signed Terrell Buckley. This will be his third go-round with the Pats. He is to the Patriots what Lou Merloni is to the Red Sox. He's probably a better hitter than Lou........
  18. Crespo should be beaten but even so, he'll probably remain with the team. Probably will be AD. Thought Brown was going down anyway.
  19. Hideo Nomo.........if you say it fast, it comes out Nideo Homo.
  20. Did you watch the game? Lowe gave up only 3 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs of which only 2 were earned (1st inning) in 5 innings pitched. This is the least amount of hits he has given up in any start this year.
  21. I heard on Monday night @ about 11:45pm on WEEI that he may not be activated until Friday against the Dodgers.
  22. I would choose Varitek but if Pedro is doing in five years what Clemens did after he left, then I'll have to slit someone's throat at that time........any volunteers?
  23. As much as I turned against him when he was a Spankee, I have to take my hat off to him. Well, if I wore a hat I would.
  24. I like Trot but something tells me if Vladdy were the RF'er for Boston, Nixon might be elsewhere. Remy says the guy is amazing because when you see him walking on the field before a game, he looks about 50 years old, all feeble and dragging his butt around. When the game starts, he looks completely different.
  25. If the Sox had VG they would be far and away the favorites in the AL. Four for four on Wednesday night with 2 homers and 9 RBI's. Now hitting .357 Hey, I can dream can't I?
