    IMO, a guy who platys everyday as opposed to once every five is more important.

    Could someone post Melky, Ellsbury, and Crisps stats? I know Crisp wasn't much this year, but why are the twins so high on Melky? Ellsbury clearly has the edge over both of them but if it were betweeen Kennedy/Hughes and Melky, or Buccholz/Lester and Crisp, I don't see a large disparity in value.

    I agree, at this point I doubt he'd get money from anyone to be a closer. Stay with the sox for one more year, improve you stock (it can't get worse), and then next year you can earn the big bucks as a closer somewhere else and we can get Type A compensation.

    Type B free agents give us next to nothing in return. I say try and resign Gagne at a reasonable price and hope that he can work out his problems in 2008. The guy has talent, he just needs to gain the confidence back. Plus, how much could he possibly costs to retain?

    Actually, the post-season lineup i'd like to see... 1. Ellsbury - RF 2. Pedroia - 2B 3. Ortiz - DH 4. Manny - LF 5. Lowell - 3B 6. Youkilis - 1B 7. Varitek - C 8. Crisp - CF 9. Lugo - SS Speed in the 8-9-1 holes, contact in the 2 hole, power 3-7 the lineup looks potent sans Drew, but he could be helpful off the bench
