  1. Oh My God! Alan Embree Is My New Best Friend!
  2. Miller, after getting ahead on Peralta 0-2, walked him on roughly 469023496 pitches. He was OK with Sizemore and he did much better with Cora and Crisp of just throwing strikes. He's also very lucky he didn't go all Bryce Florie on us with a shot to the face. Again, I would like to hear that Wally and Tek review some film with Wade and show him what he needs to do in order to put hitters away.
  3. Thank you, Victor Martinez, for that 12 pitch AB that made me look like a genius. What would I do? Miller needs to throw more sliders. Eleven of the twelve pitches in that AB were curveballs or fastballs. Granted, both of those offerings from Miller are very good, but that slider can be a devestating pitch. It's right in-between speeds (86-88) of the heater (91-94) and the cuve (77-79) plus that late break can really get inside of lefties and get righties chasing. He needs to throw more and get comfortable with it. Other than a few minor spots, Miller's been fantastic tonight.
  4. I've always thought he looks like a psychopath. I remember watching the game with my buddies once and he was sitting in the dugout with his head tilted down and he was looking at the field with these crazy eyes. He looked like he wanted to eat someone's children. Crazy sunnuvabitch.
  5. Wade Miller can be a great pitcher. I'm talking a 200 strikeout pitcher as soon as next season. What he needs to work on with Varitek and Wally is his ability to put hitters away. He gets two strikes very quickly, but he will then throw three straight balls and force himself to groove in a get-me-over fastball or he will just throw up a meatball on 0-2. This is a very fixable situation with the stuff he has. He just needs to pitch smarter. He's also working his way back from that arm trouble, so I'm not worried yet. Tek is going to turn this guy into an ace.
  6. I don't see any guarantee of Kotsay being a Yankee. They have nothing to offer that Billy Beane would be interested. Their best prospect is in low-A and everyone else is either struggling an assload or is a half a decade away from the major leagues. Even Cano and Wang wouldn't get it done.
  7. http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/PawSox_Pedroia.jpg Did the PawSox have to pick the picture of D-Peddy getting kicked in the nuts?
  8. It's pretty much a rehabbing pitcher pitching as well as he is able to versus either the 25th man on the roster or a prospect trying to hit as well as he can for a specific number of pitches without baserunners. I think case, it was Schilling versus Youkilis for 65 pitches.
  9. If he stays a closer, he will turn into Brad Lidge. But, they are seriously considering making him a starter, which I believe they should at least attempt.
  10. Jonny Paps got rocked last night.
  11. Stern is going to be inserted into the Pawtucket lineup for 10 days of rehab. After that period, he must be offered back if he isn't on the 25 man roster or back on the DL. The main caveat about Stern vs. Ambres: Stern is left-handed. I've never heard of a lefty-lefty platoon. Payton is probably Ambres' upside. We'll see.
  12. 26 to 6, you numbnuts, I'd much rather take the following win from last October than some meaningless win five years ago: http://news.bostonherald.com/galleries/gallerySoxYanks7/8.jpg
  13. http://www.almostboston.com/images/041030/kapler_damon_1918.jpg I have no idea where you can get a hi-res one.
  14. This says it all for tonight's game: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2005/basketball/nba/specials/playoffs/2005/06/21/pistons.spurs.ap/tx_bwallace-
  15. Hansen in action: http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/stjo/sports/m-basebl/auto_action/105939.jpeg
  16. I listened to Jim Kaat and Paul O'Neill yesterday and I thought I was going to rip my ears off. Those two are horrendous.
  17. Randy Johnson sucks terribly.
  18. I apologize for the little pictures and terrible formatting. I'm new at this.
  19. Bronson Arroyo versus Kevin Millwood. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/276520.jpghttp://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/119154.jpg Discuss.
  20. If the Sox convert him into a starter a la Papelbon, they're just going to throw an assload of money at him so that a minor league deal is sufficient. If they see him as a closer, they'll give him the major league deal and around $3.5 million. By the way, a major league deal doesn't mean that he has to be an active member of the team. It just means that he has to be on the 40-man roster and could be in Pawtucket, Portland, Wilmington or anywhere.
  21. Schilling, a faggot? Please. He damn near couldn't walk on one leg and he still shut down your horrendous team on your home turf. If anyone's a faggot, it's Mr. I Need Therapy playing 3rd base for you.
  22. Hey, did you see Big Shot Bob last night, Tex?
  23. What have you done for me lately? Oh, that's right, you choked worse than Paris Hilton during a gang-bang on four consecutive occasions. Enjoy third place. Get used to it.
  24. A comparison that I heard that seems to be a solid one is Randy Winn. Winn had all the tools and was a first round draft choice by Florida (just like Ambres), but didn't put it all together for a while. He got a regular job at 25 and didn't become an average regular until 28. That'll probably be the case with Ambres. He'd likely be a competent platoon partner for Trot while giving similar production for less money than Payton. If we can move Jay for 'spects or a MR and then promote Ambres, it'll be a positive move.
