  1. Good call. This is a close pitching matchup...but Arroyo's sick. He's got the goods to take this one. Let me rephrase: PLEASE GOD LET THEM WIN. THEY NEED TO WIN. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
  2. So don't talk about it. It's just something to think about.
  3. There's also mirabelli - who's more than worthy of a starting role for the sox if they can't resign tek. He's an '05 FA also.
  4. Oh, I just listed sox FAs....I'd love Pavano if we could get our hands on him. And sign Arroyo and Youk long term.
  5. One game will not determine a contract. With Scott Boras as his agent, as well as Tek's, neither will be easy to resign. Necessary order: 1) PEDRO 2) McCarty - no more hitting for this fella...he'll be clutch in the bullpen if that's what he works at this offseason. He showed some serious potential. 3) Varitek...if he's cheap enough. Just for a couple years (2-3). 4) Cabrera - f*** yeah. 5) Bellhorn...get the infield solid for the coming year. 6) Mientkiewicz (do we have him)/Mueller ...either or. If youk is ready for a full year in the bigs....bye bye Mueller. I love the guy, but him and his contract are definitely not worth it. 7) Mendoza...if he's cheap. Possibly ahead of Mueller 8) Lowe - Might as well throw him on the list...if he gets some common sense and signs 4 years...btwn 16-20 million. I dunno. I love McCarty, sorry I just do. I believe Timlin and Embree are still on for next year (options kicked in). Am I forgetting anyone crucial? BTW...bye bye Pokey. He's a fan favorite, but utterly useless if he doesn't play...and he won't.
  6. Another thing: The 55,000 Yankee fans were shut up from the 7th- the end of the game.
  7. Some good came out of this game. A) A ridiculous comeback B ) Shutout innings by Embree, Mendoza, and Leskanic. I like the way this series looks. Sure, we're down 1-0, but this was just not Schilling's night. Discount the first 3 innings (if only) and the sox won this game 7-4. Ridiculous, but if the Sox can get 7 runs in a game where Moose starts...what about Lieber? I like it.
  8. Here's the first one again, I accidentally deleted it: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/forumfun/stfu1.jpg
  9. Empire: We understand the situation. If you're doing that post as a memorial...fine. If you're using the pics to spite sox fans...that's another story. And in the latter case, THAT would also be disrespectful.
  10. Arroyo is a future ace...no doubt in my mind. He proved that he's a legit starter in the minors, and he's shown signs of brilliance in the majors. Keep in mind he once pitched a perfect game down in the minors. This man needs to stick to the rotation, and start regularly, 3, 4, or 5. As long as he starts. Wakefield never ceases to scare the living s*** out of me. One day, he'll pitch 8 Innings of 2 hit baseball...the next he'll give up 6 homeruns. Against the tigers. What does that mean for the sox? Who knows. Maybe just keep starting him. Yeah. I'd love to have Pavano. LOVE IT. That's an unbelievable rotation. Schilling, Pete, Pavano, Arroyo, Wakefield? That's one of the dirtiest things I've ever heard. ARROYO NEEDS TO BE SIGNED TO A LONG TERM CONTRACT NOW. NOW GODDAMNIT NOW!
  11. It was blatantly disrespectful, joke or not. Draw the line somewhere. I wish the best for Mariano Rivera and his family in these hard times. Much respect to him if he makes it back in time for Game 1 (which would be ridiculous) That is toughness right there.
  12. They annoy everyone.
  13. I think Yeszir means ass-kissing... which, yes, I did do a lot of. That, and maybe the fact that I've known him for 8 years. Notice how a girl introduces herself on talksox...and it's one of the most active threads on the site.
  14. die . That's a pretty vicious thing to say for a young'n.
  15. And he's very much younger than you are.
  16. It's actually been made official by redsox.com: 1) Schilling 2) Martinez 3) Arroyo 4) Wakefield Just like the ALDS...then back to beginning again.
  17. I don't plan on having the Patriots lose this season. It just won't happen.
  18. noonanberg is my friend. I don't think he's been making those posts. I"ll ask him.
  19. It also won't be as easy to beat the Yanks as we think. Johan will be TIRED by the ALCS. He's "struggled" and I only use that word in comparison to how he usually pitches. But either way, I don't care who we beat, whether we sweep or win in 7, as long as we get past this next series.
  20. Mendoza's still floating around out there.
  21. I believe they don't own the name. They'll probably get, it, but they'll have to negotiate.
  22. Mussina pitched just as well as Santana. Johan was far from his sharpest, but 0 runs is 0 runs. Yanks got 9 hits off him (which is quite rare), but he didn't let them clutch his. Nathan went lights out in the 9th. So far, so good, in both divisional series.
  23. Sox win 3-1. Let's get this party started.
  24. This just in: McCarty is better than Lowe. 2 shutouts innings, 1 hit, 3 K's.
