  1. If you see a recap of it...try to listen to the guy on the PA...literally YELLING to everyone to keep calm and peacefully exit the stadium. When a guy has to YELL into a PA in a STADIUM, there is a serious problem. They're going to up security in Detroit, and meanwhile, the Pacers have 6 active players. I think Wallace's penalty is fair...Artest's foul was blatant and ridiculous, and Wallace just stupidly and quickly acted with a shove. What happened because of the shove is so out of proportion and unbelievable... might have been the ugliest brawl in US Sports History, enough said.
  2. Do you guys think these were deserved/fair? I do, certainly for Artest. That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. It's s*** like this that makes me hate the NBA. College basketball is better, but not by much...at least those guys care about the game. PS. Pacers are f***ed.
  3. Apparently, Hudson is the only one of the Big 3 who he's possibly willing to deal. He's the most attractive of the 3 because of his '04 season, and he's headed to FA next year. Billy would have to get big prospects for him...and apparently the Red Sox don't have enough to offer him.
  4. Not one much better than that of boston.
  5. I voted the first one. I believe Pavano is as good as ours, and Pedro legit wants to come back to Boston, he's just trying to get more money out of us. But he'll be back regardless.
  6. ...it's also worth 12 million dollars. The Tigers also are paying Urbina 5 million next year...so a set up man and a closer? Or will they trade Urbina?
  7. I actually don't mind ahhchon's lineup....you left out 2b though...and I heard the Sox and Bellhorn agreed to a 3-year deal. I can't confirm...anyone else hear this?
  8. ...sportsman of the year that is. http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2004/magazine/specials/sportsman/2004/11/15/sportsman.ortiz/p1_ortiz_si.jpg From SPORTS ILLUSTRATED
  9. Thanks for your input, welcome to the site.
  10. I don't like giving up Youkilis, but if we can't get Tek... I dunno. This Schneider guy seems less than appealing. His 2003 campaign was far from decent, and his 2004 season was only marginally better. The only perk I see is this guy gets paid jack s***. Like, 350 thousand. I don't like it, find someone else. If you can't get Tek, sign Mirabelli and promote Shoppach or Dominique, possibly Hyzdu (is he a catcher?).
  11. Here's the link to the site: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?p...50mlbfreeagents Beltran Lieber Milton El Duque Kline Provocative. Discuss.
  12. I didn't realize this - Pedro got 1 3rd place vote, which puts him in a 3-way tie for 4th place with K-Rod and Joe Nathan.
  13. Johan received all 28 1st place votes, Schilling received 27 or 28 second place votes, and Rivera received 24 third places votes. 1. Johan Santanta 2. Curt Schilling 3. Mariano Rivera I think that looks about right. The writers got it right.
  14. I like it. Sounds like this guy has huge potential (25 yrs old), and it probably won't cost the Sox jack. He's a LHP, and a starter. Theo is definitely good at what, at times, seem to be minor pick-ups. Mark my words, this guy will help the Sox next season.
  15. I saw a bumper sticker at one point that had one picture of an elephant raping a donkey, and a pitcure right next to it of a donkey raping an elephant. Underneath, it said, "Same f***ing difference." I thought it was hilarious.
  16. Not necessarily the best team (cause the Astros weren't), but I believe they take into account how valuable a pitcher is for his team.
  17. I think the big turning point was Roger's final run. The 'stros won all 8 of Roger's final starts, and he compiled a 6-0 record over that run. He was a huge reason they made it to the playoffs. But Johnson's statistics are excellent, the fact is he played for the worst team in baseball.
  18. 3 years 24 million is a great offer for an old-ish catcher. What's interesting is that that isn't really that far off from 5 years 50. A little negotiation, and the middle man is 4 years 36 million...which could translate into 3 years with a 4th year option. The biggest problem with this is that Tek wants a no trade clause. If the sox sign ANY player to a no trade clause, a clause for manny automatically kicks in. The Sox aren't sure if they want to fully commit to the rest of manny's contract, as well as a full commitment to Tek's contract. So there's a lot of negotiation that needs to take place. To answer your question: Yes, his demands are too much.
  19. He beat Randy Johnson and Roy Oswalt (2nd and 3rd) to take his unprecedented 7th Cy Young award. I'd be shocked to see him retire. Let's face it. The Rocket is one of the best pitchers of all time, and I can't help but love the guy.
  20. Crosby won a no-contest, and Bay edged Khalil Greene.
  21. Ted Williams hit one 502. Manny hit one 501.
  22. I dunno Yeszir, that seems a bit low to me. Soxfan1 = The board would collectively like to s*** in your mouth. Get back to us all ASAP.
  23. I actually had absolutely no idea that Lieber was that old. I don't want the guy on the Sox just because of the almost certain fan reaction. Plus-nootttttt that good.
  24. I was just bringing up that much coveted free agent at same position at same age is likely to a simliar contract. I'm saying that 4/36 and 5/45 aren't extremely unreasonable.
