  1. It seems like the world series just ended, but its now only 9 days until the start of spring training. Thoughts? Opinions? And should we get game threads going for ST games, or is that a waste of space and effort? Maybe just for the ones that are televised?
  2. Just the attitude we want out players to have! Let them swear allegiance to old teams and hated rivals! Maybe clement/wells/miller will do the same, and who wouldn't want Renteria remaining a cardinal at heart? :dunno:
  3. Why is everyone so infatuated with balls, dammit! People getting eyes gouged out for homerun balls, so called "milestone" balls selling for millions of dollars, THIS whole ordeal. It's not worth it for some string and a hide cover, really. I'll sell you a baseball for 12 bucks. Official MLB too.
  4. He's not on the yankees anymore, you don't have to fawn at his very name.
  5. Adding to the completely arbitrary predictions: 13-9-1 (yes, he will tie) with a 4.89 ERA
  6. Who doesn't like baseball more?
  7. What do Rocky Balboa and the Eagles have in common? Both are fictional champions from Philadelphia. Anyhoo, I wasn't nearly as excited as I was for the sox. To be frank, I wasn't excited at all. I guess this is what it was like to be a yankees from from 96-99...
  8. Ha, so I guess no one gets the custom title. Oh well, more contests to come I guess.
  9. Because the pats will win 20-17, I will be the winner. This is my prediction.
  10. Do you know how hard that would be. Johnny Damon's beard gave me grief. I suck at small photoshoppings.
  11. No one cares about the Mets. :harhar:
  12. I don't see the sox winning the division, partly because I'm a pessimist. I think we've surpassed the yankees in terms of talent (we did that last year when we beat them senseless), but they're still the yankees, and I still see the sox as a wild card team. The orioles improved with the addition of Sosa, despite what some people may tell you. Even though the sox have an upgraded pitching staff (for the most part), I still think the orioles could annoy us. On the other hand, Toronto is now easier than ever, so I dont really know what I'm saying.
  13. And also, im not sure if this was done on purpose, but the 0 and the 1 are switched on the pats side of the board, so it isnt in order.
  14. More people should enter this considering all you need to do is say "im in" to have a shot to win. Speaking of which, I'm in. It would be awesome if I won and denied one of you a custom user title.
  15. The commercials that I remember from years passed have not been risque. I fail to see the sense in allowing commercials which proclaim "erections lasting longer than 4 hours require medical attention." It makes no sense that every other commercial can be penis enlargement/erection stuff while other things are outlawed.
  16. I miss the game threads. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the commercials.
  17. That's a pretty good contract atually. Unfortunately, it won't do the tigers any good whatsoever. They may win 4 more games this time around, but what they really need is some pitching.
  18. This is being moved to the contest forum. Winner of the pool will recieve a custom user text as a prize.
  19. They spelled centre wrong, the fools! At least Rogers sounds normal. Its not like petco park or something blatantly commercial. I, for example, have no idea what Rogers means. I initially thought you meant that they were tearing it down in favor of a less sterile stadium.
  20. They "found" him. From http://joyofsox.blogspot.com/
  21. Welcome to the boards.
  22. Welcome to the site. But never ever ever wear Yankees clothes again.
  23. The initial post is from BDD.com, but I'm not sure what the terms of the signing are. On a side note, Hideo Nomo signed a minor league contract with the D-Rays.
  24. Source? Anyway, his stats: Year Team W L SV ERA G IP SO 1987 Taiyo Whales 0 0 0 3.00 3 3.0 2 1992 Taiyo Whales 0 1 0 27.00 1 1.2 1 1993 Yokohama Bay Satrs 0 2 0 9.00 12 19.0 17 1994 Yokohama Bay Satrs 0 1 0 13.50 4 4.2 4 1995 Yokohama Bay Satrs 1 1 1 6.00 9 24.0 17 1996 Yokohama Bay Satrs 1 1 0 4.76 17 17.0 21 1997 Seibu Lions 4 0 0 3.38 31 134.2 32 1998 Seibu Lions 7 4 8 2.60 53 69.1 68 1999 Seibu Lions 2 4 12 2.03 52 62.0 65 2000 Seibu Lions 1 3 1 3.38 48 53.1 49 2001 Seibu Lions 1 2 1 3.83 54 51.2 53 2002 Seibu Lions 0 0 0 3.00 3 3.0 4 2003 Yokohama Bay Satrs 1 8 7 4.40 52 47.0 47 2004 Yokohama Bay Satrs 0 1 0 4.62 21 25.1 24 Few innings pitched, but a decent k/9 ration.
