Fred Hoey was the radio broadcaster for bot the Sox and the Braves while I was growing up. Jim Britt took just before the war, and I listened to him ( ffrom just before the war started until a little after I got out. Neither needed a flunkie to tell hime "that ball should have been caught" I could glose my eyes and see Febway or Braves Field. When one of them said, "there it goes!" (and was asleep) I knew Foxx must gotten hold of another one. I am really sorry for the LA fans. No more Scully! Tha;'s sad.

I hear ya! And I, too, depended on radio broadcasts in my early years as a Sox fan. I particularly enjoyed Gowdy. 'For that straight from the barrel taste, the taste that people who really know beer like best, Hi neighbor, have a Gansett!'

However, slap my wrist Mal, but I do enjoy Eck and the color he brings to the game. He sometimes makes me feel that I'm sitting right next to him in the bleachers kibitzing about what's happening.
