Today is INTL signee day and the new rules specify that you cannot spend over $2.9 mil total or it counts towards your draft bonus cap. The Yankees got busy right away.

They started the day with Yancarlos Baez. http://dplbaseball.com/featured-post/the-new-york-yankees-ink-yancarlos-baez/. He signed for $650K. He is a switch hitting SS with a solid appearing glove, a quick bat and a solid frame.

They then moved on to Luis Torrens, the #2 ranked INTL prospect, whom they signed for $1.3 million. He's a right handed hitting catcher with power projection and some good raw tools behind the dish. They love his bat and think it will carry to the bigs

They finished the day with the #4 rated INTL prospect in Alexander Palma, a powerful RFer from Venezuela who they signed for $800K.

Big day for the Yankee signees. Two of the three are considered to be hit first players which should help them move through the system. The SS, Baez, sounds like he can stick at SS, which is something that is rare to see at SS
