Hey everybody,

don't want to miss the chance to say hello in here as well... my name is Joe (Joachim) and I'm from Nuremberg/Germany.

Like you might think now, I get asked quite often how I can be a baseball fan... indeed it's pretty weird for a European. Even I can't explain precisely but this is how it started (If you're interested):

I used to be a American Football fan for quite a long time and had no idea about baseball. Some time ago I was able to receive ESPN at home and when I noticed that they're airing ballgames I forced myself to watch a game. Right after that I fell deeply in love with that game and the Red Sox. I've been liking everything about Boston for years (most likely because of the music) and so I guess it just somehow had to happen that way...

In Sept 2011 I'm lucky enough to fly to Boston and watch a Red Sox live which excites me already.

So far, so good... if you guys have any questions concerning germans (I guess there are still some things you're wondering about ;)) or something just let me know...

Let's Go Red Sox!

Joe

Welcome, sir. Nice to have you.

I took German 1 during the fall and have always been interested in Germany/Austria... My senior year of high school I became real good friends with a foreign exchange student from Salzburg. We also had a girl from Hamburg so that was cool too. I really would like to go to Germany or Austria (maybe both) within the next few years to visit and see the country.

Nice to hear... if you ever plan to go to Europe and need a place to crash just let me know... we already hosted two guys from Canada and are always keen to show our city and area to foreigns...

There's nothing quite like going to a Red Sox game. I don't get to go to many since I live in Illinois, but I went to my first one in about 6 or 7 years last summer and it was awesome.

I'd love to hear your experience after you go to the game in September.
