Shows how much of a fan you and most of Celtics Nation are. Everyone's panicing, crying fowl about this and that. Christ, it's f***ing January. If this were March, I'd be concerned.

I don't get to watch the Celtics much.

What's the problem? Is their age -- in regards to the big three -- showing? I thought, coming into the season, depth would be a bit of an issue. Is that the problem? That's kind of what I gather from them wanting to bring Marbury in. Depth is something that's somewhat fixable, but if they're looking old and tired, that's not as fixable, and one would think it would only get worse. But I think they'll be just fine... no need for a panic move.

I can go through a f***ing laundry list.

-They're all tired. As a result, their jumpers are coming up short at the end of the game, they're missing defensive rotations, the 4th tonight was a mess. KG hasn't been his usual emotional self (he's been more emotional than 99% of players in the NBA still, but he's usually wound up 10 times more than he has been, he's obviously most tired). Ray's been cold, because his legs are tired, it's all around.

-Our depth isn't bad, it's more the size. Big Baby and Powe are undersized and over-matched against bigger guys. They were up to Yao's shoulders and Yao was going over the top at will.

-In the recent stretch, Rondo has been god-awful save for a game or two. He's the key to this offense.

-Tony Allen being out doesn't help, but it's giving Pruitt time to play (he played awesome tonight, he hit his shots and made limited mistakes in 15 minutes). I'd rather go with Pruitt over Marbury because he's got a year in the system, knows the guys, the plays, and the team. I love Pruitt, he's a real good kid.

-We take every teams best punch every night. Teams aren't scared of us like they were last year.

-We've been the victim of hot teams. Felton his a ridiculous jumper to push the game out far enough so we couldn't win and we could only force OT which we did (when I say ridiculous, he was like, off balance, falling away, from 20 feet, awesome shot, but he wouldn't hit it again in 10 tries). Tonight, Von Wafer and Aaron Brooks were hot as hell, and Yao was just too big. I don't understand why Doc kept Big Baby on him, especially when KG was on the floor too.

I could go on, but I think it's all correctable, save for adding length. God I'd love to see Joe Smith here... Scalabrine and Giddens/Walker for him. Do it Danny.

Edit: One more thing. The second unit has seen a decline in production for a few major reasons. Tony Allen has been banged up, Davis is taking jumpers (he's hitting them though, thankfully) and not banging down low, and Leon has been trying to draw the contact as opposed to putting the ball in the hoop.

Do you think they're better than Cleveland, Orlando, or Los Angeles? Or even San Antonio, Denver, or New Orleans?

Or, I guess, more importantly... do you think they will be better than those teams come playoff time?

I made reactionary posts in a Celics thread immediately after a close loss. I'm a horrible person, please forgive me. How will I ever make it up to you?

^^It's fans who make stupid reactionary comments like that after every time the Celtics lose that piss me off.

See Red: Right now, I think Cleveland has to be the team to beat throughout the NBA. LeBron is otherworldly. I was quick to criticize him in the past, but right now, I really can't do that. He's simply amazing. West is playing great ball, Williams fits nicely in that back court. Illgauskus is a perfect fit because he can step out and increase the spacing on the floor for James to drive to the hoop. Wallace and Varejao are both very tough defenders and rebounders, and Boobie Gibson can shoot the lights out off the bench. They're a really complete team, and have a solid amount of youth in their legs. I really like them this year. I'm real excited for our showdown on Friday with them, and I feel like it'd be a nice game for the Celtics to get back on track with.

I think Orlando is a little overrated. Nelson isn't a real point guard, and I think they're a little weak with big men off the bench. Pietrus was a good addition, but you can't really add one guy and expect the defense to improve that significantly. They're the clear cut 3 team in the East, but I see there being a big gap between the Celtics and Magic.

As for LA, they're a good team, but I still do not trust them against Cleveland or Boston in a 7 game series. I foresee Odom as being a problem at some point down the line. He's in a contract year, he's 29 years old, and he wants at least one more long term payday, and mediocre numbers off the bench is not going to net him that, unless some team overvalues getting a solid 6th man/3rd offensive option. I can't see a team that throws out Gasol, Vujacic, Walton, and Radmanovic as being successful in June. They can prove me wrong, but I can't see a team that lacks that much physical toughness succeeding.

SA is SA. They're the same as usual. They'll get better as the year goes on and will be a tough out come playoff time.

Denver is tough. I don't really know what to think of them. They dump Iverson and they just keep on winning. Billups fits well there, Nene and Martin are playing real well, etc. I like them, but I don't see them having a factor in May and June.

Well, K-Mart's healthy for the first time in... a while. Same can be said for Nene, really. They were able to get themselves some more size in Petro, I guess giving up a late first rounder isn't too big a deal sine they seem to hate drafting in the first round anyway (they much prefer taking the Clippers' secound round picks).

Should be a good game tonight in Cleveland -- Cleveland hits their first five shots.

But... what the hell, Cleveland? Throwback alternate uniforms? Christ...

edit: Wish I could watch the Nuggets/Pistons game tonight, though.

God this Cleveland team is f***ing GOOD.

Scary good.

They're winning the NBA Title I don't care about how well we can rebound from this bad streak, I don't care that Orlando has D12, I don't care who LA has. Cleveland is the best team I've seen play in a long long time. Almost as good as the Lakers earlier in the decade.

Yeah, they'd have to be the clear cut favorites at this point.

Good D, they've shown they can score the basketball... like you said... scary good.

Awesome win tonight. Holding Orlando to 80 is quite an accomplishment.

Glenn Davis really stepped up with some big shots. He's starting to get pretty comfortable shooting mid-range jumpers. Good to see.

I thought the call on KG to foul him out of the game was a little questionable. They didn't call Gasol's first swipe where he missed and smacked KG's hand, but they call his "shove" (which was a half dive anyway) which ends up sitting him down. A no-call on both ends is fine, but in a situation like that I don't see how you can call that. Whatever, what's done is done.

This Lakers team is scary when it has Bynum. That's for damn sure.

It was questionable but they were calling the ticky tacky calls consistently all night, so I don't really have a gripe in it.

If the refs let them play more, Garnett wouldn't have fouled out, Davis wouldn't have been in playing like a bum in the last 2 minutes then overtime, and I think we would have won.

There was no contact. If thats a foul, then there is something wrong with the leauge.

Obviously... I agree, it shouldn't be a foul, but they were calling s*** like that all night, which is why I had no problem with them calling it.

Doesn't really matter anyways. It's February 5th, not June.
