if youre saying take game 1' date=' come home with a split and have Lester going for the decisive game 3, I can understand that argument[/quote']

I'm saying get us to three wins as soon as possible, I think that means starting Beckett and pitching DiceK in Game 2, and Lester at home where he's been dominant all year.

Nobody should start except Beckett.

Hes never lost a playoff series, has been simply lights out every time it mattered and is emerging from a disappointing regular season into playoff form and i assure everybody that he is the most feared man in the game now.

There are arugments for the lefty or dice k but in a 5 game set who do you want if it goes to the deciding game?

Becks is amongst the best ive ever seen in his young career,a Jack Morris type a guy who can be beaten until october when he is absolutley the prick of pricks on the mound.

There shall not be a debate about this unless becks is hurt.

I dont really put much weight into Lester's home vs. away stats anyway. That 4.09 ERA is due to getting shelled twice in Toronto and once in Houston. aside from those outings, he's been just as dominant on the road as he's been at home

1 thing we have seen this year is the emergence of Jon Lester as one of the elite lefties in the game.

hes done this all season, incredibly consistant #s and the story behind the story is beautiful in itself.

dice k too

we forget that he is 18-2 with a sub 3 era,i cant stand to watch him pitch and i think he boors the piss out of the opponents but goddam hes been effective and been getting deeper into the games.

we are peaking at the proper time and in all honesty the team that frightens me most is in florida.

Beckett in Game 1...no question here. Lifetime sub-2.00 ERA in 70-plus post-season innings.

Dice-K in Game 2...one could make a compelling argument for Lester here but with Dice-K's .178 BAA on the road and Lester's utter dominance at home...this is really a no-brainer.

Lester in Game 3 I like Lester over Saunders who has been struggling mightily in last 2 months.

If it goes to a game 4, which I suspect it will....Beckett comes back to finish Angels off.

September stats for the Sox top 3 starters:

Beckett: 2.16 ERA, 25 IP, 20 Hits, 4 BB, 27 Ks

Dice-K: 2.74 ERA, 23 IP, 17 Hits, 12 BB, 25 Ks

Lester: 2.28 ERA, 27.2 IP, 24 Hits, 12 BB, 24 Ks
