It wasn't "clutch" enough.

I know you disagree with clutchability. I am not that big on clutch either. Let us replace that with ability to bring runners home ( sometime with home runs) when runners are in scoring position that mostly result in a win for our team.

Yankees are winning and the Rays never loose. Tough to keep in pace with the Rays.

Until they hit the road, that is.

I trust the final stretch of the season, where the Rays play predominantly away from home while the Sox play mostly at home will be enough to take the division. Hell, they still have a West Coast trip left on their schedule... Sox don't.

And Lowrie's an absolute stud.

Nice, eliminate all the rest of the stuff that goes into winning a baseball game and just focus on what you like.

I would like to see what kind of cards Cashman brings from his sleeve. ESPN 1050 said he is rumored to be extremely distressed with the Joba news. I guess he is no longer relying on a Pavarno come back.

My guess is his next mocve is claiming Jarrod Washburn off waivers.

you aren't going to turn around and give the lead back the moment you get it, are you Wake?

The Alex Cora era can't end soon enough.

Vintage Wakefield here. Get him 3 runs then he gives back 2 or so. Why he is under 500.

I disagree...

Although he owns a losing record, Wakefield (6-8, 3.77 ERA) has been among the league's more effective starters for more than two months. The knuckleballer, who turned 42 on Saturday, owns a 2.74 ERA and a .195 opponent batting average since May 28, but only a 3-5 record to show for it in 12 starts.

Poor run support has been the primary culprit. The Red Sox (65-49) have scored three runs or fewer for Wakefield in eight of his last 12 outings, including a total of six runs in his last three starts.

Hey, if they build a statue of him, it will be like he never left.

Because he's old and would have been even worse than Cash this year.

Offensively speaking, maybe. But once every five starts I didn't mind having Mirabelli in to catch for Wakefield.
