Not a bad change there from Schill, he can sit at 91-92 if he has an effective change.

Unbelievable. This lineup is a pitcher grinding machine. 27 pitches for Meche-man through 1. I'm stupefied. They are the grindiest grinders to ever grrrrrrind and grindel grandel pitching grendel. Grrrr.

Do I sould like anyone?

Hahahaha

Schill's getting peppered.

he is throwing 90-91 right now. And that splitty he threw to Teahan was terrible.

BTW, Schill is much fatter than he was last yr.

There is the cheese. 93 high and hard, kid fouls it off.

He's working a 2-seamer today. That's something new. It used to be arrow straight gas from Schill. I think we may need to prepare ourselves for an adjustment period with Curt. I'm confident he'll make the transition, but there might be a few bumps along the way.

Remy's made an excellent point' date=' he hasn't thrown the change in a big count yet.[/quote']

I had said before that I do not think a guy like Schilling will even consider using it in big spots until he is comfortable with it.

Ross Gload, acquired in one of the worst deals I have ever seen. 6'7" power armed lefty dealt for a no hit, no glove 30 yr old 1b. dumb.

Understandable, but it would be a nice change of pace pitch - especially if he threw it early on in a count.

edit - Finally out of the inning, it's vital the bats work Meche some more.

it will be. Schill may be learning that throwing 94 with regularity is gonna take a bit out of him. His splitter is still mid 80s. He needs to slow it down and he will regain his effectiveness.

Want to know something else thats dumb? He got the opening day nod over both Emil Brown & Reggie Sanders

Nice damage control by Schill could have been a lot worse, with the pitch count, Schill will have trouble making it through the sixth today. Looks like we will see the bullpen.

Pedroia makes good contact but for some reason keeps huffing on over to 2nd base. Meche gets by with just a 6 pitch inning

Biggest part of your post. That bottom 3 needs to eat pitches cause the top 5 will see their share. And they force Schill to get back on the hill quickly after a s***** 1st.
