Work Visas?

Does anyone here know the (rough) details on the arrangement MLB has with the Federal Government with repsect to all these non-citizens working in the USA?

 

Is it the same sort of thing my company would need (e.g. H1B) for example or do pro sports (which includes the farm systems I would guess) have their own deal?

Great, but I was asking about professional baseball players, especially MLB.

Major League teams I believe get a certain amount of visa's for international players. I don't know the exact number but I know there is a limit.

athletes actors musicians models and other assorted entertainers get a special exemption from the us govt to perform in the states

the average dominican cant get a work visa here say for picking cantelope in florida but if they can hit 50 hrs theyre more than welcome

same with jamaicans

i know a girl who is a model who got a special visa here for her work with vogue in ny

however

her brother wasnt allowed to join her here

Here in California, particulatly in L.A., anyone can get a driver's license.
