According to ESPN Radio in Boston, the Red Sox have acquired Javy Lopez from the Orioles.

 

Ken Huckaby's stay in Boston will be a short one. Lopez could share time pretty evenly with Doug Mirabelli initially. It's a better situation than he was in as an Oriole, but it still might not leave him with a great deal of fantasy value. Now that Mirabelli is hurt and there’s a good possibility that he might end up on the DL, the Sox once again are forced to look for a backup catcher. They might have been a bit too hasty in DFA’ing Huckaby. He wouldn’t be available until the earliest Wednesday, and that assumes he clears waivers. My guess, as was speculated in yesterday’s game thread, is that we’ll see Corky Miller in Tampa tonight.
