I think the worst thing that the MLB tried to do was to institute a grading curve for the umpires. I know it seems strange I'd say that, but now the umpires are calling pitches very inconsistently and are umpiring scared. That leads to terrible officiating. Players and managers should be the ultimate end of the yr judge of umpires, not a friggin machine. As every on here has said, it isnt that the zone gets called, but that the umpires are consistent....
