Damon played through a lot of injuries last season.

He really got himself beat up a lot. Poor thing..but seriously....

he kept playing and said he was fine but we could all see he was hurting

and had some problems he wouldn't get fixed.

Just wondering if he ends up on the DL list in the beginning of the season

what will happen to the Yankees lineup?

Sort of like when you buy something on Ebay,

you never know if it really was worth the money till you try to use it...

then find you got ripped off.

Now seriously ...Damon has had many injuries so it could happen.

Rose don't worry if Damon goes on the DL he'll get to spend a lot of time with Sheffields wife

Oh I'm sure him being the new sexy Yankee....she'll have her turn. :harhar:

Serious answer (are you looking for one?) : We go to the lineup we had last year, with Bubba and Bernie in Center (mostly Bubba.)

nah....not really... ...I was just curious how ya'all would feel if he couldn't play because he's broken.

but if he were still a red sock and yankee fans were questioning it, you would say he will be just fine. Nice to see the rosey glasses are tainting our picture. Fact is, Damon got checked out and passed his physical. That is all that should matter. Also, with the yankees non-reliance on a full time DH and having 2 backup CFers, Damon should see about 10-20 games as the DH which should recharge the batteries. The sox couldnt do that with papi. Also, he wont have to deal with the rather hard green monster 81 times, which I believe was the source of his injury last yr.

One thing I never questioned was how much of a gamer he is. If he goes out and gets hurt by playing hard, then I'll be mad initially, but I'll be glad to have a blood and guts kinda guy on my team. He should be fine, but if he isnt and he plays hard and he gets hurt, then whatever. We survived without him last yr, we could survive again. BUT, his track record shows that he should play 140+ games this yr and that should be a lock for this yr too...

I stopped reading right there. Don't call ANYONE here a homer. You are a classic Yankee spin doctor ... YOU'RE A HOMER. You view the world through pinstripe glasses and I think even the Yankee fans here would recognize that ... atleast the intelligent ones.

Nothings ever a lock, but I see where your coming from, that he's hasn't shown to be injury prone yet, why would he start now?

Also, I agree with you about the way he plays in center. I see it as he plays with a reckless abandon, nice to have but it can be a gamble, if he gets hurt running into the wall like he did in center last year (face first, ouch!).

Nice to hear from you MJ....hope you're not wearing yourself out .

Actually last season towards the end with his shoulder I did wonder if he should be playing.

My concern wasn't so much that he wasn't playing well...but injuries like the shoulder injury can worsen if not taken care of. My thought was for this coming year in which I thought he would still be a Red Sox.

See...I don't wear rose colored glasses. The name rosey refers to the flower...a rose, which happens to be my favorite....

in case you were thinking of sending something for Feb. 14th

As a matter of fact I think I still have my old sig with my name and a rose in it. I could use it for my avatar.
