Don't think he'll be back, hope we can rape the Pad's again like we did in the Roberts trade ...

I hope you were being sarcastic.....getting just Jay Payton is hardly raping them. s***, its not even touching them, let alone a sexual assault of any kind

We got Bradford for Peyton & Cora for Vasquez, Pauley's in Portland (AA ) btw ...

David f'n Pauley!

Longmont High School, baby... I was in his PE class when I was a Freshman. He was chilling at my house a few months before he got traded to the Sox.

really? youre kidding! I had no frigging idea those trades had taken place. Did jay payton and ramon vazquez help out in the long haul with this trade of roberts for them? no they didnt. they only contributed as trade bait

Dude, we got Peyton, Vasquez & Pauley for Roberts, get your facts straight ....

Bro, regardless of who you got (and I only mentioned Payton because he was the headline guy you guys got in return, I was aware you got Vazquez, and I was not aware about Pauley..I appologize), that trade does not deserve comparrison to a sexual assault of ANY KIND.

Payton is an awesome ball player, and i wish we never did trade him because that trade for bradford was a waste IMO. Especially now that you are probably going to be shopping for a center fielder, you wouldn't have to if you had Payton.

Vazquez for Cora was huge. We didn't "rape" the padres, but we took advantage of the Guardians alittle bit. Vazquez was definetly a downgrade on Cora. I love Cora.

The deal with the padres was a pretty good deal, I wish we kept payton, but hey not everything works out the way I want it to otherwise we would have traded Damon in July when his value was huuuge, but thats just me.

I don't think the Payton trade was a bad one at all. He wanted out because he was in his walk year and didn't want to play on the bench. He was very vocal about playing time, and that is never good in the clubhouse. Plus, getting Bradford helped the shaky BP, and I think the FO knew we'd be getting Kapler back before pulling the trigger on the deal. You can look back in hindsight and always make the right move, but at the time it made perfect sense.

yeah the sox trade off the best leadoff hitter in baseball in july who at that time had a 29 hit streak going, how is the logic in that??
