Why hasnt PECKERHEAD figured this out?

That's a misnomer. It's peckerCHEEK, my friend.

And I heartily agreee that a shorter leash needs to be kept on starting pitchers. The best pitchers who ever lived have had days where they got shelled for a dozen runs. Just don't give them the opportunity to let this happen. After two bad innings, send him out on a "let's see what happens" basis. If the hits keep coming, the situation is out of control and it's time to take him out. You're going to send another pitcher up at some point in the game anyway; better to do it when you're down by 4 runs than 8 runs. Screw the "saving them for another day" BS. They are here today, and a win or loss today still counts as a win or loss tomorrow.

Terry "that's not my tongue in my cheek" Francona needs to go away if you ask me.
