I cant believe you guys want Tito out already. I was talking to schillingouttheks and the topic of the Red Sox and loyalty from the fans and organization went, and this is a perfect example of what I was talking about with him. this man won you guys a championship last year, something no other man has done in 86 years. And already you want to kick him to the curb. Same thing happened with Embree and Bellhorn this year, they dont have seasons like they did last year now Red Sox Nation has a bounty out on them. This happens all too much with the Red Sox, where players or managers who played a big part in the franchise leave, get booted, or have the fans turn on them. Barrow, Ruth, Fisk, Clemens, Boggs, Embree, Bellhorn, Foulke, Nomar, Vaughn, and now Francona, among the many others.

(I put Embree and Bellhorn because regardless of what you guys say, they were huge fan favorites and played a huge role in the championship last year).

riiight and Yankee fans dont complain about their own players when they are having bad seasons

need I say Wells first game at Yankee Stadium as a Red Sox, being booed and seeing signs with vulgar comments just because he changed his uniform

Yes they were, but the response was to Macha managing with only low priced players and no offense.

Oh I understand. That is a crazy statement, as I recall last year Macha had Zito, Hudson, Mulder, Dotel, Chavez, and Dye. Hardly low priced players.

Yes, but thats because he was in Red Socks. When have we ever treated him like that when he was a Yankee. Or anything else for that matter (SD last year he got an ovation).

Read the entire thread. I was responding to :

"This is all with low budget players and a terrible offense, Tito has won one only because of our talent. Hell, I'd bet macha would win 2 with us if he started out w/ pedro and Schill" posted by CityofChampions33.

and yes, of coarse we do, but not to the extent that you guys do. But we're a loyal organization as well. The last time we let a player go who was a vital part of our success and a huge fan favorite was 2001/2002 with Tino Martinez (and if you remember, none of the fans were happy about letting Tino go), and Andy Pettitte 2003/2004 (also, the fans did not want him to go, that was George's doing).

I wasnt stating that your statement was "crazy" but rather the statement made that Macha only manages a team with a low budget and no offense.

Why should Tito be fired? Don't one of you remember that Tito saved the Red Sox for a 7 game series against the Yankees in 2004. The Red Sox have had no closer, no ace pitcher, and a extremely disappointing pitching staff. How is Tito at fault with that?

It's amazing what macha's done with the A's REBUILDING, hes taken this team of rookies and no-names into playoff contention, I would LOVE to see what he could do with the Sox, he has basically turned Huston Street into the MLB's next promising closer and has total confidence in all his players, plus, i'm sure he wouldn't have loyalty issues as Tito seems to have (cough) Millar (cough).

I don't understand why your arguing about this, do you think im dissing the A's? or what? Anyway, I wasn't im fact I was applauding them in both of my posts there as you can see, and i wasnt saying that their whole team was cheap 300 thou players I was saying that they had few expensive players becuase they had to keep their payroll in the 55 -60 mill range as they have the past 2 seasons. Basically Macha has put them in contention this season with a) no Tim Hudson or Mark Mulder, B) No Tejada, and a team that has scored under 800 runs the past 2 seasons, and c) 2 rookies in his bullpen in which hes molded them into quality relievers. Now put Tito in that situation and see what he would do. All I'm saying is that is a great accomplishment for an orginaztion to do this with so little.
