Everything hit for them has eyes on it. We drill the ball right to their fielders. That's how the game goes sometimes.

This inning is looking yucky...

I mean I know you have limited control of where a ball goes, but god damn, its like we're trying to hit their fielders.

MVP means most valuable player, name one other player in baseball that has as many big hits as Ortiz does? How many ties has Ortiz broken? How many walkoffs has Ortiz has?

Thank you

That doesn't make you an MVP. If Ortiz is suddenly elimated from the Red Sox, the Red Sox wouldn't suffer nearly as much as the Yankees did, if A-Rod was elimated. The Red Sox have a much better lineup. It's stacked with excellent hitters down the lineups, Olerud, and Petagine could do a servicable job for Ortiz if he was gone. If the Yankees lost A-Rod, they lose 41 HR's, and a good glove. Then you have to ask yourself the question, who replaces A-Rod? Escalona? Phillips? None of them are even close to the calibar of Petagine and Olerud, and that's not saying a whole lot. While Ortiz certainly is extremly valuble, it's hard to argue against A-Rod, who has better numbers, and is carrying a team offensively.

today varitek shouldve been given the day off, he just looks tired now with his hitting. I would think Mirabelli get the start today, considering also against Towers he is 4 for 6 with a HR. coming into tonight's game Varitek was 0 for 7. I just hope Papa Jack can really help Tek

Ortiz has easily won us 10 games on his shoulders alone... I can't even fathom where the Red Sox would be this season without him.

He's in a funk, he'll get out of it, all great hitters do.

 Riight so Olerud, a player who right now in his age is best for playing as a backup with his bad legs, and Petagine who has total 11 career homeruns would easily take over for what Ortiz has done. get a clue

Probably about 7-10 games lower than where we are now. Ask yourself the same question about Rodriguez though. You can't throw out his credentials because he is wearing pinstripes. If you're a fan of the game, you can objectively look at it, unbiased.

Besides Ortiz didn't win the games, the team did, and to be honest the Red Sox are a better team than the Yankees are. In a way, that kinda hurts Ortiz' shot.

But I'll say it again. If A-Rod doesn't make the playoffs, he doesn't win the MVP.

Thanks Detective Dipshit.

I didn't say they would take over and do what Ortiz would do. I said they'd do a MUCH BETTER JOB then Escolana or Phillips would do for Rodriguez.

Apparently, you can't even buy a damn clue.

That just means I don't have to read your pathetic responses.
