It's a tribute to Juan Marichal's statue. They also wore that jersey in May.

what was significant about yesterday that they wore it? Like what do Marichal and and September 12 have to do with each other, or nothing at all?

 

How does that show tribute to his statue, does his statue say Gigantes on the jersey rather than Giants??

I dunno, maybe because he's Latin... or because he didn't speak English.

 

And I don't know why they wore it yesterday. But I think they shoud've worn it on August 22nd, because it was the 40th anniversary of Juan Marichal's femininity by hitting John Roseboro in the head. What a puss.
