Just want to here everyone else's reasons why LA does not deserve the Dodgers, here's mine the los angeles fans s@#k! They come in the third and leave in the seventh. Such a disgrace! Brooklyn fans don't leave till hilda chester sings! You left coast people should be happy Robert Moses was a unyielding toolbag, and Walter O'Malley was a money hungry sociopath

You cannot claim ownership of the 1959 series win because that team was largely filled with Brooklyn Dodgers. Craig, Drysdale, Furillo, Gilliam, Hodges, Labine, Podres, Snider, Zimmer were all Brooklyn Dodgers. You can keep the other 4 because those teams were Los Angeles teams. I also get to claim the Brooklyn Dodgers championship because if they weren't stolen I would be a Dodgers fan and the Mets would never have existed.

I have no problem with the L.A. Doggers claiming anything after 1957, my problem with them is when they try to make themselves an extension of the Brooklyn team. I have a problem with them when they claim Jackie Robinson as one of theirs, and as we all know Jackie never played for them. I have a problem with them, when they claim our 1955 WS championship as part of there history. The only way I won't have a problem with them is if they give up the name Dodgers.

AS WE have discussed here, ad nauseam, the Big "O" wanted to move OUR DODGERS to the west coast, and he knew that MLB would NOT allow only one team to make that move, west of the Mississippi. So, being the good "friend" that he was, and knowing that Horace Stoneham was losing money like crazy here in NYC, he put his arm around him, whispered in his ear, and as they say folks, the rest is history.

Taking OUR DODGERS from their only rightful home, BROOKLYN, will go down as the traversty of baseball history. The pain that that one single act caused is still felt today, 48 years later.

Hey, NY Giant fans aren't like that to the SF Giants.

You post on BBF? What name do you post under. Thats the first baseball board I started to consistantly post at.

Yea, theres a lot of bitter, die-hard Brooklynites over there, especially DodgerDeb and the gang. And you cant blame them. The absense of the Dodgers is still felt over here. But try to put yourself in their shoes, their team was stolen from right out under them with practically no notice (what was it, a years notice?) which left no time to protest or anything.

You are right that MOST Giants fans dont feel that way towards SF. But there are definately some that do. The reasoning I suppose is that the Giants werent as good in the later years in NY as the Dodgers. Also there is no argueing that the Brooklyn fans were 100000 X more passionate than the Giants fans. Or at least the majority of them. Because as I said there are still plenty of bitter, die-hard Giant fans.

My username there is Pure Dodger.

Yeah, if I put myself in their shoes, I'd really be heart-broken. My problem is they do not like to link their history with the L.A. Dodgers. I mean, if the Dodgers never had a World Series title in Los Angeles, they wouldn't be this bitter. I know there's still plenty of die-hard NY Giant fans, but they don't mind the move to the west as much as the Brooklyn fans do because the Sf Giants weren't successful as the NY team was. Brooklyn fans hate the fact that the L.A. Dodgers have a much better success than the Brooklyn Dodgers, although most of the Dodgers' HOFers were from Brooklyn.

Did you see that one comment? "The only way I won't have a problem with them is if they give up the name Dodgers." How pathetic was that?

NY Giant fans always like to link their history with San Francisco.

PS

Do you know that ******* Angel fan, BlueSteve32. The guy is a pain in the ass. What a douche.

yea i know them. Ive been posting there for a few years, i know what you mean, some of the posters there can be difficult.

You're right, had LA not been as successful we (NY/Brooklyn) wouldnt be as bitter. And yes, its absolutely ridiculous that he said he wouldnt have a problem if the LA team drops the name Dodgers.

If you look around the forum a little you'll find me. I post all over the board but mainly the Yankee, Met, Expo, Current Event, Trivia, History, and International boards. I have the same sig there as I do here (the NY baseball thing).

I was just arguing earlier with another Brooklynite. I was talking about how pathetic it was to say it's ok for them if L.A. drops the name "Dodgers."

They indeed are a storied franchise...a story that ended in October 1957.

The current franchise playing on the west coast has a history but it is not the history of the Dodgers...it is the history of the sick piece of garbage Walter O'Malley....he should have renamed the team the O'Malleys.

Goddamn, I just lost my respect for the Brooklyn Dodgers. (However, I'll still keep the 1955 title in my sig for the sake of its 50th anniversary)

right about now, im beggin for my blackhawks to leave. i'll never forgive dollar-bill wirtz for destroying my team...may he burn in hell

They should be better this year. Khaublin is a hell of a goalie.
